The grill looks like an after market job. Pretty tacky. I wonder why they have skimped on air bags. all cars in it's segment offer airbags on the top end version. also no work on the suspension meaning the issue of handling at higher speeds continues. Sad

Absolute trash and a half hearted attempt by Hyundai to revive the sagging sales of verna.
Airbags, rear discs, USB/AUX in and steering mounted audio controls are NOT provided on any models.

This is the brochure. The base models are now also available without the audio system.

can anyone please explain me the meaning of "dynamic by DNA"?

Model Ex-Showroom Price (Rs.) Delhi
  • Verna VTVT w/o Audio 655,896
  • Verna VTVT w/ Audio 674,321
  • Verna SX VTVT 750,384
  • Verna VGT w/o Audio CRDi 787,881
  • Verna VGT w/ Audio CRDi 806,404

Alloy wheels std., Airbags not even as an option still?

I spotted this car outside Hyundai Motor Plaza, Chennai today. As I had said before and like many others commented, it looks better (much better in fact) in flesh than in pics. The pictures just don't do justice to the real thing at all. But, the major irritant looks-wise continues to be the stupid horizontal twin slats in the grille. The car I saw in silver colour looked very sporty.

Really.. actually, pictures are supposed to do more justice to the looks.
But if you say so, I would better take a look at it.
I liked it in pictures itself, so I am sure I will like it in flesh.
BTW, I like that Hyundai has launched it without the audio system as any which ways the stock audios have much better alternatives available in the market.

When hatchbacks are offering airbags these days, this safety feature is seen more as hygiene. This is not the day where Hyundai can pass on its constraints to customers. Hope they launch a complete version soon.

A simpler front without all the dramatic lines may have been way better !

Best of luck - Hyundai

Something like these looks decent to me.. check my photoshop edits below

Hyundai should have really upgraded the interiors in this one. The Verna has the most boring interiors amongst all cars. And still no airbags option for a car that costs upward of 7lakhs! When Hyundai can put 6 airbags in the i20 then why not give it even as an option in the Verna too?

I just love the Verna as a car. Decent Interior, OK looks, Great engine.
But lack of safety. I don't think I'll recommend it to anyone.

Airbags not even an option in any variant? Sad. Looks are just plain to me. It may even be repelling to some people. Interiors are decent. Overall a shoddy job from Hyundai. And then they say Hyundai is not able to crack the rupees 1-million plus car market in India. Now we know why!

That's a very odd and different exhaust. Something you generally don't expect on a sub 10 lakh car. Looks like it's been borrowed from the Jag XF/Mercedes ML 320/350. Anyway, can't wait to get a glimpse of the car on the road. Let's hope it looks better in the flesh than in photographs.

given that Hyundai are launching this godawful Transform version, we can safely assume that the new Verna that is being launched internationally will not see Indian shores for at least a couple of years from now.....

I dont see Hyundai garnering many sales from this version- no airbags and no steering mounted audio controls!! when their own car one segment down has both of these and more

I like the looks of the car! looks sportier. And yes, I feel they are inspired my multiple car brands from Toyota to Tata . The tail lamps remind me of Indigo CS and front grill -- Altis. And I thought they learnt their lessons with I20 Saga. They dont look so. While I appreciate their omission of Audio as an option, just dont understand why did they omit ABS / Airbags for such a powerful monster! MISTAKE, MISTAKE ! Or do they plan to bring in the international new Verna soon ? to me it just looks like they are not interested in any sales surge. I have started to lose confidence on Hyundai -- Verna was one of my MOST fav cars -- I would not even dare to dream driving it without ABS in it !
