He was taken for a royal ride by the dealer,as i got to know from a reliable source that the car was sold again for 3.XX lakhs,as it was just 14 months old when sold.

All the 4 tyres and clutch plate have been replaced 1500kms before. It has complete service record's and it is totally Hyundai A.S.S serviced. Just that it's has a dent near the front LHS bumper and the insurance is due for renewal next month.

You should not pay anything more than Rs. 2.6 to Rs. 2.75 lacs for 2008 Wagon R Vxi with 48000 kms on ODO. As this car is certified from True Value maximum you can pay is approx Rs. 2.75, which I feel is higher but I understand used car prices are at higher side in Banglore.

I will also suggest to approach local used car dealers & you may get a 2010 K-Series WagonR for approx Rs. 3 to Rs. 3.25 lacs.

Regarding your Nov 2006 Maruti 800 with 69000 kms odo you can expect to get Rs. 1 lac from a Used Car dealer.

Pricing as mentioned by Jignesh is a good indication but I am surprised by the change of clutch and tyres 1500 kms back - effectively around 40K kms

Hello Narayan,

As far as tyres are are concerned in small cars, they are due for change anytime after 35000 kms. How long will they last after 35000 kms depends on how the car was driven.

Regarding clutch - Stop & go traffic in our cities take the highest toll on clutch assembly. Further if the Car is driven mostly on AC in city & if the driver is riding the clutch most of the times, wear & tear is obvious. As far as clutch replacement is concerned, in few cases it is a subjective decision & Authorised service stations many times do manage to fear the customer & convince him to change the spare parts that are otherwise good for few thousand kms.

It is fitted with 14'' aftermarket alloys with stock tyres, reversing camera, seat covers and 3D mats . This as good as a new car.

Cost on road with 5 yrs tax + some tax arrears was 7.41+ 0.13= 7.54L,
aftermarket items cost about 41K.

How much resale should I reasonably expect for this car ?

6.8-7L since dzire has a good resale and a long waiting period and a used car buyer wont pay extra for accessories that you purchased.

Akshat - This is Bangalore where the Avg price is much higher compared to rest of the country.

I wanted to close it at around 5lk where the IDV is at 4.2lk.

I agree,but 5.6L is absurd.
If the IDV is at 4.2L
I would still say not more than 4.5L,its a 4 year old car.

IDV is always inflated. Gets a better premium, plus one also feels good that "wah, she's still worth so much? "
If anything, use the the IDV as maximum to pay.
