I saw a couple of lancers and cedia too. One lancer was in complete black including the wheels, not sure if it participated. One cedia with a red and white combination color.

yup that was nice to watch, but i remember seeing the R1 beat the ZZR1400 ( Blue ? ) in one of the runs, not sure though, may be in the Open class or something...
BTW, did you notice that the R1 was fitted with NOS for the Open class run ? too bad that it didnt work when he fired it, else that would have been a sight to watch.
There was a black Baleno that did a run, Dont know the timings though and there was an Ikon Flair.
That Zen is a 1 ltr turbo Zen belonging to Vasu, he came 3rd in his class in the final run. |
It seems Shabbir himself told someone it is tuned to 900bhp. I dont know if thats true. I agree that he is a good driver and is professional in all sense. Also, see who he was pitted against in the Ferrari ( celebrity son of a film star-so its not a fair competition at all)
Prabhu in his stock zen beat the Ikon Flair in qualifying/Trials.
Blue ZZR1400 was mouthwatering to say the least.
Swifts were dime a dozen. It didnt do any great shakes either. However, a couple of OHC's ( White and black one and a green one ) were very impressive.
Some Zen's were also quite impressive.
Special mention to a guy in Red Peted VRS, he was smoking other peted VRS. This purely calls for driving skills. Great show
I was there till the entire prize distribution and GMR boss gave a surprise of 1Lakh cash prize to be distributed to all.
so cash prize across all category for 1st/2nd/3rd was 1500/1250/1000rs.
Overall, the event was a huge success. However, some of the hyderabad folks didnt like the bangalore guys ( especially Shabbir, thanking only Bangalore and no mention for Hyderabad where the race was conducted). It would have been courteous to mention a simple thank you
All said and done, Shabbir was the hero of the event. And, many congratulations to him.
