The list looks impressive. Nitrous where is the CONFIRMED tag against your name?

The last I heard, we might be having 3 to 4 more cars besides those listed here from non tbhp members. Heard Neo was pepping up a second SX4.

On a more serious note, guys please ensure you are running decent tires, brakes and cooling systems. The 3 components that take quite a bit of beating.

@vikram & nitrous - finally.. and i really mean finally... even my car would stop.. new pads, shoes and rotors

Hey Guys,

its really catching up on me - (do we have to wait till March ??)

I have two questions:
Is there a canteen available ?
Is guess the total track length is around 3.7km, whats the average timing record for stock cars (Just forget the category, just a ball park figure majority will achieve)

In an ideal world nothing goes wrong and everyone will be courteous.
But... in the "real" world nothing can be predicted.

Last time around I was literally stuck behind a car for a good part of 3 laps simply because the guy who was driving is completely oblivious that he is on a track and there are faster cars and people who can obviously drive faster are there. Yes I could have overtaken him on a turn, however since he does't even know the fact that I'm behind him makes it dangerous.

My logic was if he is too bone headed to look in the mirror he ain't that good a driver.

Another bunch was a couple of "horn happy" cars. come on... its a track a quick flash of the lights will alert the guy in front, if it does't a quick "honk" will. But please don't lean on the horn like the local bus drivers.

Anyways its just a "fun" session to explore ones own limits and "NOT" to set any speed records or to race the other guy. So keep it cool and make sure you leave the ego "off" the track.

Got to agree here and with "thalai" aka nitrous drink lot of H2O.
Heat will simply drain you and driving on the track at a resaonable speed is no "walk in the park".

No canteen was there last time.

I don't recall the exact times, but last time it was something like 2min 30-40sec

There are lots of canteens available - We could organise one F1 style too..

A ball park figure is 2m for long loop and Our man nitrous will do it in 1.5m.

It means average speed of little over 110km/hr, possible yes. But you need a fast car and a good driver. As we are talking about "sock cars" eh ?

Please see this from the last rackday

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post1404107

It seems

Swift with RD ECU set a P2 mode - 2:22
SX4 2:27 (Yup the one with the turbo)
Elantra 2:17 - trust me this car was FAST

So, possible ? Yes. But with the list of cars we see here. I don't think so.

EDIT : I did't see the 320d, so might be possible for that one

So anything lesser than 3 mins on a bone stock car is next to impossible ?

I am no expert but here are my observations...

It is certainly possible. I've seen an almost new & completely stock i10 do around 2.4 (or lesser).

Going lesser than 2.3 would be a bit more difficult & shaving off even second after that mark requires considerable amount of skill & concentration even in modded cars.

Cheers!

I did't say that. Did I ?

I did a stopwatch timing for my car it was around 2:40
Personally I think there will be a lot of errors in this and accuracy is anybodies guess.

Still 2:40 means average speed of 93Km/Hr and by all means I don't think its accurate.

Well for sake of argument say after negating all the errors lets say the "actual" time is 3 mins.

It will still mean 74Km/Hr average on a 9 year old Zen with 90k kms with worn out shocks, practically no brakes and a clutch which was replaced soon after (at 92.5k)

If that can be done, 2:20 should be possible on a "bone stock" car.

2min = 111.51 Km/Hr
2.10 = 106.2 Km/Hr
2.20 = 101.37 Km/Hr

But, only if its driven "fast".

EDIT :

Could't agree with you more.

EDIT 2 : If anyone is wondering long loop is 3.717 Kms

EDIT 3 : The RD ECU Swift (diesel) was having AD07 (bald AD's) and should be around 90bhp.
So it should be possible on a Fiesta S with 100 odd horses, right ? and more so on a Getz CRDi due to its phenomenal straight line performance.

The line up of cars here, stock I presume would have a best time of around 2:30. Maybe a lil better if driven well (the operative word) Below the 2:30 mark is not impossible but as venom rider stated now and nitrous has stated over and over in the past, every fraction of a second will take some doing. (the 320 d is not taken into consideration here)

I would personally like to see what figures the Fiesta 1.6S churns out. Its the car to be in.

@vikram - No, I did not need an ECU change. Thank God. The IG coil though was not that lucky and had to be replaced. Just 3 months for the cam to arrive

Just something from the last track day http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ics-added.html

Whose temp needle shooting up? Vikram and Nitrous? or are you talking about Venom Rider's esteem? Either way I see that you have not confirmed as yet. Buddy a lot of people are waiting to see your car on track taking on the verna. Im sure Bala would welcome your help.

OT - Bala is at it very seriously undertaking a strategic planning exercise to make his move at the ultimate showdown with ulladai kumar. Spy shots in the pipeline.
