For some reason, these dont appear to be a brand new car design at all! I see an Accord front face with overall design looking bloated rather than sharp. In comparison, the current Korean designs are so nicely Germanic (because their design center is in Germany!).

Honda Civic spied on test. ( Sedan and Coupe versions)




The pictures taken showed both the sedan and the coupe versions of the car. It is thought that although there is a lot of black disguise on the one car and that is the 2017 Civic Coupe
There have been suggestions that it will have a 1.5 litre engine with turbocharger and four cylinders and that there will be a European body style version available in the US.

The cars with white disguise are thought to be the Civic Sedan and the shape can be seen well in one model. It looks like it will look rather like the Accord’s current design. Seeing them together means that it can be seen that they share a wheelbase

Despite the fact that the segment has shrunk, I really do feel that there's a market for this car.

The 8th gen Civic had futuristic styling both inside and out, and was a lot of fun to drive too. Let's hope this one is more 8th gen than 9th gen.

What we need is a car that combines the all roundness and FTD factor of the Octavia/Jetta with the hassle free ownership and peace of mind of the Corolla.
This car, if launched here, could be just that.

The Civic test mule with UK plates, but featuring a left-hand drive layout. It was spotted testing on German roads.

Honda has already announced the North American version will be equipped with a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine benefiting from direct injection and working together with either a short-shifting 6-speed manual or a new continuously variable transmission.
Honda has previously mentioned that global development of the sedan and coupe is being led by a North American R&D team while in charge of styling is a team from their Los Angeles design studio

I eagerly hope Honda decides to launch this in India. Honda definitely has a gap in their lineup between the City and the Accord and the Civic, with the cult following that it has, could bridge this gap perfectly.

Honda, get the 1.6 liter diesel with this new civic (along with the turbo i-vtec) and we're looking at the segment's best car. The 1.6 L diesel produces 120 bhp and 320 Nm, it's good for the segment, though not the fastest.

Still not appealing look wise. The last generation sold in India still is among the best designs and Honda is really trying hard to differentiate it but in a way are not able to better it. The engine is a big and only welcome change though.

In terms of design, they should try the evolutionary approach like how they did with City from the first ivtec generation to the current one.

The next-gen Honda Civic continues it's testing rounds in Europe, under a modified Acura ILX body.

It's actually the same prototype from last week wearing a modified Acura ILX body but with a shorter rear overhang and the taillights of the current Civic hatchback. We checked the license plate and managed to find out the vehicle was registered in United Kingdom on February 1 as a Honda with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine.

Set to be a global model, the next generation Honda Civic will also be available as a sedan and a coupe while details about a wagon version are not available at this point. A range-topping Type R version has already confirmed and will be sold in United States where an Si variant is also going to be available.

This Civic is definitely exciting! A turbo VTEC should be a cracker of an engine. Meaty torque and a frenzied top-end! They say that the power output would be around the 180 bhp mark, which would be drool-worthy.
I just hope that the CVT does not dull the engine's edge. After my Vento TSI, I have become an ardent fan of automatics in our driving conditions.

WorldCarFans have captured exclusive spyshots of the interiors of the next-gen Honda Civic during it's testing rounds.

The dashboard represents a major departure from the outgoing Civic and seems to have lost the two-level layout in favor of a simpler configuration which looks cleaner.

This is likely a lesser model as it gets a relatively small screen for the infotainment system while below the climate buttons seems to be a huge storage area although this prototype might not have all the final bits and pieces.

This is a CVT-equipped model with a new three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and seems to feature recessed instrument dials along with a generous fabric-wrapped sliding center armrest with plenty of room underneath to store various items while in front there are a couple of cup holders.

I really like the new interior. The ICE looks almost identical to that on the current City VX and V model and the area around the gear lever looks inspired by Porsche.

I hope the interior materials is not as bad as it looks in the pictures though. Honda interior quality is a mixed bag - the plastics are sturdy, but often not good to the touch. If they are good to touch, they are not sturdy. The pics look like sturdy but totally unattractive plastic to me.
