1939 Opel Super Six/Kapitan. This car appears to have conventionally swinging doors, though I think the 39 range had suicide rear doors. The headlights have been altered from the art deco hexagonal units to conventinal round ones.

No Karl. The headlights have not been altered from the curved hexagonal ones. In fact, this isn't a 1939 at all. Guess again. The car is missing some original chrome and the door mirror is too modern for the car. Apart from that the only obvious alteration is the addition of simple parking lights.

ID:559; 1949 Opel Kapitän

No Karl, it's not the 1st gen pre-war floor-shift Kapitän. Those were made in 1938-1940. They were 6-cyl. sedans, 2-door coupes and cabriolets.

In this case the headlamps have been modified to conventional ones. We talked about it here.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/intern...tml#post297242

There were no Opel Kapitäns made from 1941-1942 and 1944-1947.
In 1943, Opel put together 3 Opel Kapitäns.

This taxi ID:559 is the 2nd gen post-war column-shift Kapitän.
1949 Opel Kapitän. You can spell it as Kapitän or Kapitaen but not Kapitan.
Made from 1948-1950. Only available as a 4-door sedan. It came with conventional round headlamps.

ID:560; 1974 Ford Gran Torino Sport

ID:560 is a 1974 Ford Gran Torino Sport
from the TV serial: Starsky & Hutch.

It had Ford's Q-Code Cobra Jet 351 Cleveland engine with 4 barrel carb and C6 transmission. The wheels are slotted alloys.

The Starsky & Hutch TV show aired from 1975-1979.

The car in the TV serial had black vinyl interior with white trim, Ford sport steering wheel, bumper protection, heavy duty suspension and air shocks on the rear end. And of course, the famous special white stripe. They used several different Ford Gran Torino stunt cars, camera cars, tow cars, dolly cars, and cars used for "beauty" shots. These varied in model year from 1974 to 1976, since the bodystyle of the Gran Torino remained unchanged.

In the first two seasons, the cars, leased from Ford, were custom painted by Spelling-Goldberg Productions (on top of the factory red paint color) with the distinctive single white stripe (running from the front fender, across the doors, up and over the roof, and then symmetrically back down the other side).

The TV series was a huge hit in the first two seasons.

In March 1976, to cash-in on the success of the 'Starsky & Hutch' TV series,
Ford Motor Company produced a limited production run (1000 cars) of a similar Gran Torino car.
These were built at Ford's Chicago Plant. They had Ford's 351 V-8 Cleveland engine, automatic transmission
Corning Englehard 400 catalytic converter, conventional rear axle,
styled steel magnum wheels with HR78 x 14/B radial tires,
bumper protection, heavy-duty suspension.
sport steering wheel, air-conditioning,
vinyl bench seats with black interior trim,
anti-theft package and complete tinted glass,
and bright red paint with special application.

In the 3rd and 4th season the TV producers leased one of the 1000 Limited Edition "Starsky & Hutch" PS 122 cars painted to match the show's car, as a backup vehicle for the cars they were leasing at the time.

The 1975 models used during the first season had cloth bench seats and 'Bright Red' paint(code 2B).

In 1976, they were replaced by 3 new Torinos that had vinyl benches and were specially painted the previous year's 'Bright Red' because Ford changed the shade of red for the new models. The 1976 car was originally equipped with a 400 cid V8; however, one of the stuntmen damaged the engine beyond repair. Spelling-Goldberg replaced it with a 429 cid V8. This car is now in California.
