ID 664 is a 1964 Excalibur SS.

Yipee! This has to be the quickest guess on this thread.

I can follow up with gyan on the company if someone wants (after all, any Merc fan would have done extensive R&D on Excalibur), but not wise in the presence of stalwarts!

ID 665 appears to be a Triumph sedan, though customised.

ID 665 is not a Triumph.

Edit - Anorak's corner: The tyres are surely later life Radials. Maybe the paint too (dunno if this was in the original colour list). But the car as such is fully stock.

Not only the tyres, the wheels too would probably have been widend or adapted. Bumper is custim and the ride height is significantly lowered. Possibly running a later drivetrain too.

Karl, as much as I appreciate your eye for detail, lets save the Anorak's discussion for later. Trust me, even if all that were true, the car in pic is not custom enough to be unidentifiable. For someone who has seen it, one close look will be enough.

I'll upload images of the stock car once the answer is revealed, and we can continue the discussion. Wokay saar?

I'm certainly not contesting that the car is unidentifiable, just thought I'd point that out.

While on that trip may I add that the bumper appears to be just the supporting frame of the original.

Why not start with pics of the stock car to begin with?

Dear Lord, I'm sorry to have ever put up the pic!

Hmm, my first mystery post on this thread is turning into quite a nightmare! Life on the other side of the fence is not so rosy, is it?

Because the only other pic I have (on my hard drive) of the car shows the grille closer up, and you guys will spot the maker's emblem! And I dont have time to go googling for other pics right now.

Ok, ladies and gentlemen, now that you know that ID 665 has wider tyres, wider rims, non-original paint, a custom bumper (or atleast a supporting frame of the original), lowered ride height and possibly a later drivetrain, what in the blue blazes is the car?
