Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Really glad for Checo.

His McLaren move probably came too soon, but he's now moving to a competitive team at his peak.

If Red Bull can sort out their engine situation beyond next year, he could probably be really handy for the next few years at the sharp end of the grid.

Midfield (which is 3rd onwards in this Merc era really) is going to be really tasty next year with Perez, Ricciardo, Russell, Alonso, Sainz, Leclerc, Vettel et al.

Simply amazing ! Will Checo sink or swim, only time will tell. I'm happy that he got a chance with top team before leaving Formula 1. It will really test Checo, as the car is clearly tuned to Max's liking. He's really good at taking care of tyres, will he be able to challenge Mercedes? In all he'll be thanking Ferrari and Seb for creating a space for him in RedBull.

Absolutely well deserved opportunity for Checo. If he performs the way he did this year, he will be giving the mercs a headache with max.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Good move and the best fit to the struggling 2nd seat at Red Bull. Hope he will be in a position to overcome the quirkiness/handling issues.

Looking forward to seeing how close he can get to Max.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Hamilton has rejected and refused to sign 2 year contract with Mercedes as he wants them to offer a 4 year contract while they're not keen considering Hamilton will turn 36 this month. So currently, Hamilton is without a contract.

Good. I hope he is dropped and Russell takes over that Merc seat.

Hamilton should have accepted it. Get 2 more WC crowns setting new records and see how it goes.

4 years is too long given his age and how Formula-E evolving since electric is future. What if Mercedes drops out of Formula 1? Things are too unpredictable these days.

I hope this decision by Lewis doesn't backfire and George Russell gets the much deserving seat.

Portimao will return to F1 this year! It feels in the TBC slot after Imola. Really enjoyed it last year and hope it can live up to the expectations this year too!

Stefano Dominecali also said that their might be an introduction of F2-Style Sprint Races to decide on the grid for Sunday's race. Till now, the response from the teams have been positive and it might soon get the green light.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Checo and his first day at Red Bull.

Seems to be overwhelmed at the massive scale of operations. Makes you wonder how Force India/Racing point was able to hang on to the mid field inspite of limited resources.

Such a nice guy. Got really teary eyed when he says "Like a dog finding a new family"

Fernando has been involved in a cycling accident. Broken jaw and multiple fractures (numerous but unreliable sources)

Doubts being raised about Bahrain. Sirotkin might take over the duties.

Extremely unfortunate this. Hope he's ok.

Maybe all those who cycle for training need to consider upgrading to their Race helmets for max protection.
