Thanks psbali. This review is no match to the official reviews.

And yeah even I have seen couple of new swifts only in white color till now.
By the way, do you think that new swift needs a racechip in it and that it can even handle the extra power like a Fiat would?
Same here. ALL new Swifts I have seen have been White and Diesels. To answer your question about handling extra power, I feel it should be able to handle it very well.

Yes, it was in exchange for the stock tyres and I paid Rs. 10,000/- for 5 tyres.

I know DD. I should have bought the ZDi but somehow I couldn't afford the 90k premium over the VDi. So far I haven't spent much on upgrades to cross over the pricing of the ZDi.

No, I haven't paid a premium for quicker delivery. It would be unfair on others in the wait to pay a premium and bypass the queue.

Thanks swiftdiesel. Yeah, the tyres are very comfortable and offer considerable grip.

Guess it is a user preference.

Not yet, any idea what costs I should be looking at?

Btw,

I forgot to mention a very important improvement over the previous Gen, the NVH level. The cabin is very well insulated from engine noise and there's hardly any engine noise intruding into it. BUT, the windows are thin. Not just thin, they are VERY VERY thin in comparison to cars I have owned in the past (Other Swift owners can confirm). Traffic noise gets in very easily. You can hear every moped / 3-wheeler standing next to you at traffic lights. The windows do not have a mirror finish either, its rough cut.

Congrats Moralfibre.

I am also waiting for my Gen 3 Swift Zdi, pretty excited though. Please put more photos for the tires and alloys.

Regarding the Turbo kick, I have read it in other reviews as well but I think in dense city traffic it would not be disadvantage. Had managed to test drive VTVT, but could not get time to get TD for DDis. Will get to know once I do that.
Once again congrats and wish you more and more miles on your new Swift.

@Durango Dude, i too was in a similar dilemma (Zxi Vs Vxi Vs Vdi). Sounds crazy but all these varients fall between 5.5L - 6.5L. Taken the plunge and booked the Vxi as I get a clean dash where I can install my HU and ICE of my preferred choice. I am sure I will upgrade my tyres on day 1.
Even with ZDI/ZXI you can upgrade the ICE & tyres any time but the safety features can't be retro fitted. If I were you I'd invest in safety than ICE & Stanley seats. Problem is the new VDI is bereft of the ABS option, as compared to the old one.

Congrats Moralfibre.
Another Swift in white.

Very good review indeed. The white looks best when you see the car in flesh. For pics other colours look good.

Enjoy your ride and drive safe.

Cheers.

Moralfibre,

Congratulations on acquiring the Maruti Suzuki's best selling car. Its a nice detailed review.

How do you feel the roads in your new Swift as compared to the old FIAT?

You may like to 'modify ' your signatures now?

Cheers!

re: My Gen3 Maruti Suzuki Swift VDi Sep2011 1,05,000km done EDIT: SOLD

Congrats moralfibre. Yet another white Swift and it looks as refreshing as the others. Any reason you didn't pick the ZDi?

Good to know you are enjoying the move from petrol to diesel. 17+ kpl is encouraging. Your post talks about turbo kicking in at 2200 rpm. Are you sure it isn't 2000 rpm? 2200 sounds like too much of a lag.

Driving this car on the twisty roads to Lavasa must have been a delight. The handling and torque on hand should make it twice the fun to drive.

Surprised to know that seat belt height adjusters have been left out in the V trims. This is taking cost cutting to extreme levels.

Happy driving in your new car.

re: My Gen3 Maruti Suzuki Swift VDi Sep2011 1,05,000km done EDIT: SOLD

Hi,

Nice review, I am also looking to upgrade my Palio and I am looking for same handler as Palio, at least equivalent to Palio. I know it is difficult to find alternative to Hydraulic steering but mostly I am looking for feel-planted at higher speed. I had almost finalized on T-JET but increasing fuel price made my mind change. So what I have decided is to buy a Ninja 650R for performance ride and budget diesel car for everyday ride.

I have shortlisted Polo 1.2 TDI and Swift Diesel. Have you taken test ride of 1.2 TDI ? I heard with the speed the noise of TDI disappears and it gives you planted feel as well. How you will compare Polo 1.2 TDI with New Swift ?

Congrats MF ! From the FB page of New Swift i saw one of the members has put the OEM music system in the VDI for Rs. 16k . A bit on the higher side but it does look neat IMO. The VDI sorely misses the ABS as standard and Airbags as option.

Nice review Moral but I dont agree when you say Micra is expensive. The Micra Diesel XV costs almost the same as Swift VDi in Delhi but absolutely trounces it when it comes to standard equipment and features.

Congrats for the Swift D man. The wheel caps look quite good than the outgoing model. The Rear end is rather ungainly, especially the gap between the rear bumper & the hatch door.
The interior snaps have come out really nice.

I got the same films for my Car. The print rate stands at Rs. 1995 INR. They look pretty good on a white Car
