No Anurag. Except for the first and Second service visits to Varun Motors Service Center, I have not tried to contact any Service center or mechanic. In fact now I will be having only one 'Guru' and I am going to pester him with all my problems so that he may add me to the ignore list - and that is YOU.

The current ODO is at about 3900 Kms. I do not remember the exact reading even though this morning I drove it to office and parked. Should go all the way down 6 floors to find out, which I am unable to do now.

Sure Buddy! I won't be adding you to the ignore list anyway!

You get the car serviced at Varun Motors, Begumpet? Where do you stay BTW?!

Happy to note that I will not find a place in that list.

I stay in Picket, Secunderabad. It is near to Jubilee Bus Station and behind Kendriya Vidyalaya, Picket.

Note from Mod : While quoting a post, please exclude the emoticons as it inconveniences ease of reading. Thanks

Anurag ...man ..u had tempted me to buy the ELM connector and the Torque software for my Ritz and here I am with these utilities. Still drooling over the various engine related information being displayed on the Torque software.
Many Thanks for sharing the OBD connector location in Ritz.

Anurag, is it possible to fix the same to my LDI?

In fact I am missing the ‘tachometer’ very much and when thought of getting one fixed in my car (since it is an LDI many features are not available), the MASS fellows simply said it cannot be done. I even asked them to just check the wiring since the said lead wires must have been left for future such additions. But no, they did not even bother to check.

One gentleman, Parag Sachania from Bangalore has bought the part from maruti and did a wonderful DYI job by fixing it to his Wagon-R! Hence there might be a possibility to do it but we cannot risk the same to be done outside for warranty issues.

Alex

I am happy to share the stuff and from where did you buy the ELM 327 reader? Price and details please.

Can you post a few screen shots of the App. Want to just see if my car and yours perform the same.

Missing the Tachometer! That's why you should have bought the V or the Z variant. I know the cost factor but still a little stretch would have done.

I am sorry but I am not able to understand the doubt that you have asked here.

Do you want a Tachometer from the higher variants added to your car now

or

Do you also want the ELM 327 OBD II bluetooth reader?

Please rephrase your doubt for me to help you Sai!

Cheers,
Anurag.

Yes, I should have bought the VDI. No use in regretting now. Now with installing after market power windows etc etc, I may end up spending the amount saved.

Sorry for confusing you. I was only referring to my earlier predicament of missing the tacho and trying to install it.

I want to install the OBD. If it is done then there is no need for a separate tachometer.
Hence my query is can the OBD be fixed in my LDI? If so where to buy it and where to get it fixed?

- Sai

OT - BTW are you not joining the Haleem meet tomorrow? I was looking forward to meet you.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...-kms-up-7.html

Please read on the above link and check post #98, #102 and #103 for details of the OBD II reader and Torque Pro App.

The OBD II ELM 327 reader is available on Ebay.in website and the Torque Pro App is available for Rs 250 on Google Play Store (I hope your using a Android mobile).

Cheers,
Anurag.

Anurag , I had sourced the mini ELM 327 from amazon.co.uk site . Cost me 7.95 pounds and it was brought to India by my friend who had gone to Germany for an assignment.

Check the link below.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Diagnostic-E...s=mini+elm+327

Sure will share the screenshots for your reference.

Congrats buddy. Waiting for the screen shots of the app working on the car.

My doubt is, Does the app read and display the Torque and Power values?

Mine shows reading only upon acceleration. While cruising or no acceleration input the dials say '0'.

Cheers,
Anurag.

I do observe the same reading as yours even after configuring the Engine CC and weight of the vehicle.

Probably need to look into this using the Help file of Torque.

1) Attaching the pic of mini ELM adapter
2)Check the screenshot of the readings when at idle after running 5 kms.

Yes I'm just clueless as to why there are no readings displayed.

My App Vehicle profile is set like this:

1. Profile Name: Ritz
2. Engine Displacement (in L): 1.3
3. Total Weight: ??
4. Fuel Type: Diesel
5. Fuel Tank Capacity: 43L
6. Boost Adjustment: 1.0 psi [Should this be set as 1 or 0?]
7. Max Dial RPM: 6000

Can I know how you have set your car's profile as?!

What is the max boost pressure you have achieved while accelerating? I got 17.1psi. Some say it is not true as it is too high for a 1.3 L diesel engine. Want a screen shot of yours while acceleration and the peak boost pressure you achieve.

Attaching a few screen shots of my car at IDLE

My Vehicle profile is set like this:(diff in bold)

1. Profile Name: Ritz Diesel
2. Engine Displacement (in L): 1.3
3. Total Weight: ?? 1050 kgs (vehicle weight only)
>>> This is a problem as it mentions total weight inclusive of driver and fuel . Its difficult to calculate the decreasing level of fuel and its weight.
4. Fuel Type: Diesel
5. Fuel Tank Capacity: 43L
6. Boost Adjustment: 1.0 psi [Should this be set as 1 or 0?]

Hi Alex,

I just shot an email to Ian, the guy behind the Torque App.

His reply is as follows:

Quote:
There's more on the wiki about how this works:

http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Horsepower

For the HP calculation, it's important to have the correct vehicle weight - some people weigh their vehicles on a weigh bridge, though you can usually take the manufacturers base spec and add the weight of fuel/fluids, any extra equipment and your own weight as well
How to Check for the Power & Torque figures, He says follow this procedure:

Quote:
How to do the test

Firstly, make sure you abide by all local laws and make sure that you are safe at all times! The test should be performed on a flat track. Going up or down a hill/slope will lead to inaccurate readings.

Start from a slow rolling start (about 5 to 10 mph) and accelerate until about 55 mph . This will give you the most accurate peak value for your vehicle.
