Yes this was in Mumbai & was a good turnout indeed.

We do organize such meets / drives on an monthly basis here

I have seen many people start off such drives & after 1-2 drive / meets the turnout starts decreasing, but thankfully our group is a bunch of dedicated BHPians who love to drive & thats whats kept our passion going & on an average we still manage to have 5-6 cars/meet or a drive

The service was majorly called for brake pads (rear) replacement, brake fluid change & rest was just normal vehice check up & wash / cleaning etc

The service cost was aprox 22k INR (incl. all taxes & labor)

Here are some pics of the WIP;

re: The ULTIMAT3 - F30 BMW 328i EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust & INJEN intake!

Got the opportunity to track the M4 yesterday;

The ULTIMAT3- F30 BMW 328i. EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust, Injen Intake & Steinbauer Power Module-11224636_10152995193297762_4156015374158547074_n.jpg

This car is a beast and loved every bit of oversteery action i had in the car.

The car was set up in M1 mode with the gearbox in the most aggressive setting (also full manual mode).

The thrust from the 6 cyl engine was surreal & no complaints there (sure some old gens 8 cyl purists will not agree). On the other hand the exhaust note was aggressive enough for any enthusiasts heart to go thumping, right amount of burbles & crackles.

The braking was spot on too & there was no hint of any dead spot. Also point to be noted was the brake pedal travel was short.

The DCT though i was driving in manual mode was brutally quick shifting & coping up with not hitting the limiter & maneuvering the car through the track was getting difficult for me hence i put her back in Auto mode.

A pic from the cabin;

The ULTIMAT3- F30 BMW 328i. EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust, Injen Intake & Steinbauer Power Module-img_0745.jpg

Check out the VIDEO;

Keep the volume max to hear the glorious exhaust note & the tyres screeching

Overall i had immense fun & would love to own one someday. But for me to enjoy this id stick with the 3 pedal config M/T only.

The German plates before installation;

The ULTIMAT3- F30 BMW 328i. EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust, Injen Intake & Steinbauer Power Module-imageuploadedbyteambhp1431596236.902805.jpg

Note: These are originals & not fake.

I ordered them from www.germanplates.com & the landed cost was approx $ 88 (2 plates + 2 holders & a bag of screws)

Extremely satisfied with the quality, finish & the fit

BMW e60 525d > Audi A4 3L Tdi > BMW F30 320d > BMW F30 320d > BMW e90 320d > BMW F30 328i > BMW F10 530d > BMW e93 330d > BMW F30 320d > BMW 640d

Yeah right.

Where are 'em Mercs?

A certain red car.

Yeah. 20 lakh kilometers. The W124's were equally as reliable. The W210 (1995-2002) spoilt the game though. The Mercs of that generation were umm....extremely unreliable. However; online- and offline I've come across instances of 2010 and onwards Mercs of being reliable- and hardly nigglesome.

Well you certainly are trolling That too on a thread full on BMW fanboys.

To counter some of your points, it needs to be proven whether recent Mercs are reliable. The 212 has definitely upped the game from the 211, but in my opinion still not close to the BMWs in terms of overall reliability. The Mercs nowadays are giving niggles, even though the overall reliability is certainly up from the 210, 211, 220, 221, 203, 204. But the new gen Mercs have not aged enough for us to come to a conclusion on their reliability.

And when it comes to driving experience, of course you know the Merc doesn't come anywhere close to a BMW (I'm trolling back haha)

re: The ULTIMAT3 - F30 BMW 328i EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust & INJEN intake!

While I have nothing against Mercedes and they seem to be entering the market at all levels of the game, the problem with Mercedes is that they are mostly boring to drive and many models for India are quite under powered as well. I remember a few years back in Germany my rental was a C class estate (a practically new car with about 1,200 km on the odo) and boy was that really a terrible car to drive. Nothing much by way of power, I had to wrestle with the steering on every curve/exit, too much body roll. In comparison when I had a Peugot 206 or maybe 207 it was less luxurious but a lot more fun to drive. No wonder there are no Mercs in the German car group.

The AMGs are a different matter but then you have to compare them to the BMW M or the Audi S.

Mercedes have improved but their market is more the non-enthusiasts' one looking for bling/comfort. BMW is quite driver oriented, the 320d is so nimble - almost Mini-like and Audi seem to be somewhere in the middle.
