Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Do BHp-ians influence others on car buying decision. Testimony says so
Here is my adjacent neighbor's S Cross just delivered yesterday!

But in reality have not discussed anything on this car till today when I saw his DDiS 200 Zeta S Cross!

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Excellent ownership report there, Volkman. I hope to see the car up close sometime. I absolutely love the color and the alloys you have on your car. As you said, it looks like those alloys were meant for this car and it's colour. Maruti should learn a thing or two from your ownership report and I hope they are watching. Premium offering should include choice of alloys at the time of delivery at a very nominal cost.

I wish you a safe and very happy times ahead with your beauty!

In Polo it is a softer suspension and results in quality, including over rough roads, but when it encounters potholes (wide) it tends to bottom out with a thud. Pushing hard there is a tendency to under steer but predictable.

In S Cross the suspension is a bit stiffer and this can be felt more in city, but on highways the car remains absolutely flat, ironing out all of the road imperfections. The S-Cross ride seems not affected by large bumps at high speed, without any of the pitching or vertical bobbing movement. The ride feels very planted with brings loads of confidence when handling this car.

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Congratulations Volkman10 on your premium crossover.
Wishing you peaceful and trouble free ownership experience.
When I checked the prices, the 1.6 alpha was 4 lacs more than the 1.3 alpha OTR in Chennai, should be more in Bangalore, the 1.3 variants make more financial sense, good choice

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Congrats volkman10 on a wonderful ownership review !

You sure have a very good taste by the choice of alloys & how well they appear on the S-Cross. MUL can take a cue or two on design philosophy from you.

You are in the habit of taking great care of your possessions as is evident from your quick trips to 3M service center.

Happy & safe motoring on your beloved S-Cross !!!

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Noticed this initially and checked at cars( TD's) at Nexa too and it is seen there too.

A ring of rust ( marked area in pic) on the rear disc' s only is there always. Is the brake pads engagement area to be adjusted?
Will investigate in the forthcoming service due this week.

Also noticed this disc is not having any pattern as seen in some of S Cross's here ( T- BHP owners).

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Hello Volkman,
Are you planning any ecu remaps or performance kits for the 1.3 DDIS? Do you know of any S Cross owner who has gone ahead with these mods?

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Hey volkman10, really well written review. Although at first the S-Cross didn't appeal to me all that much, I guess it's slowly growing on me. The alloys you chose just accelerated that growth all the way to the redline. Those alloys just transform the car to a whole new level considering how plain jane the OEM ones were.

Wishing you numerous joyful miles on one good looking car!

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Query:
1) are those only reflectors on the bumper? is there a bulb in them?
1) does those reflectors get covered by 3m film or do they cut it out?

The Protection film is done only on the painted surface of the loading bay. The reflector is on the cladding below the painted area and does not have PPF.

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Congratulations once again Volkman. The review was awesome and provides great detail for any prospective S Cross buyer.

The part of your review that I enjoyed the most was the FAQ section as I can relate to those very questions.

I will take a picture of the steering cover work done on your car to Karlsson and ask for the same for my car. I have not been able to contact them. No one answers the phone numbers on their website. It would be great if you can help me with this so that I can book an appointment.

I agree with you on the engine noise pilfering into the cabin. Even for me this is the first diesel car. Sandygordon is getting noise kill done for his car. I am eagerly waiting for his inputs post this.

Here is the contact +91 80 2521 6394, Indiranagar.

Surely you can have reference to mine as that was the first S Cross for them.

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Completed one month and and took the customary service (1 month or 1000 km). Coordinated through RM at Nexa. Did not avail the pickup/drop facility, rather drove to the service center and was curious to see the center as had not been to an authorized Maruti Service center for more than a decade.

Was a pleasure to meet the Service guys allotted and guess a BHP-ian is there

On discussions, a separate bay/ building is being planned for Nexa Vehicles and will be ready in a couple of month's time.

Customary checks - oils, tire pressure, Under body check, Wash, their 'Premium' 3M Care - dry wash and shine (unfair to compare with the work done at authorized 3M centers). Total duration 4 hours and the car was tracked on progress of work and keeping the committed delivery time.

There were 3 minute black mark ( like paint)on the glass,as it was not going, they offered glass replacement free of charge. But I declined as the issue seemed too minute and did not want to disturb the factory fitment fearing could start a rattle once refitted.

Truly a commendable job and rated an overall of 8/10 in the customer satisfaction evaluation form.

Under body check - All seemed fine.

Did they budge for a 8/10. In my experiences with Varun Motors, they never gets satisfied with 8 and will request for a follow-up visit to fix the minor issues to get a 9 or 10.
