I always check at the end of the journey, in this case( FE pics posted above) it is at 27 km one way.
Average speed is usually at 40 ~60km/h.
I work on flextime and adjust time to beat the traffic jams which to some extent am successful here.

I am not really too concerned about FE, but with the DDiS200 am truly amazed how this is achieved

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Presenting the S Cross, after a year's( +) of ownership.

Yes- the car is kept covered every day after use

Having bought the DDiS200 for the intended purpose ( city drive) it has met all the criteria with the bonus of having a very proactive After sales experience ( most points discussed are in comparison to VW )

About the S Cross after ~ 13,000 km ( points are repeated but then that is the reality too),

Top 5 Qualities.
1. Extraordinary mileage( sedate driving)
2. Drives like an hatch
3. Great stability and can taken broken roads (patches) with ease.
4. Light clutch
5. Great feel to be in the cabin - all round visibility

Some improvements needed
1. Vibrations on window glasses if not fully closed.
2. Back lit switches
3. Rear AC vent
4. Built though okay for Maruti's standards can't match those of VW's.

Trips done:
1. One highway (round trip) ~1400km , all the rest are within city limits. no issues when driven in designated speeds on highways ( 3 passengers+ luggage)

Mileage
- Highest in low traffic (evenings)
Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross-20161004_172822.jpg

- lowest in normal traffic (evenings)
Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross-20161005_182447.jpg

In dense traffic have seen 19 km/l as the lowest so far( after 1000 km in odo)

Ideally yes tankful-tankful is the best approach. But what I would suggest is to log all your fills on a mobile app. Since the data filled in is regular, you get a good sense of regular mileage (whether city or highway).

But yes I rarely do part fill. Its always tank-up. But I use auto-stop and dont fill to the brim. So that way Auto-stop error can creep in. But I live with it. I have details of all the 4 years of fill for my car thanks to mobile apps. It works well.

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Volkman, I have come across a couple of posts in which the rear seat bench can be completely removed so that a flat floor is obtained when the seats are folded. My RM and the Service guys has no idea about it. Do you know how to remove the rear bench?

Volkman, which is the car cover that you use on your s-cross? Can you please share a link from where you have bought it?

I guess he should have brought it from Nexa itself. I had a similar one bought from the dealer and happy with it as I have been using it for last 5 months.

Volkman apologies for barging in and responding at the cover looks similar to mine. I hope my assumption is correct

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

That's an awesome mileage volkman10 . I recently did a trip to kanpur in my scross 1.6 which gave a mileage of 16. (just one servicing has been done ) .

But one thing i must admit if you drive this car at 100kmph , it feels like you are going too slow . The car give you immense confidence to go at 140 as well . Its truly meant for the highways .

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Hi volkman10,

Despite never owning a diesel car before (and not in need of one, considering the total drives these days), I fell in love with the S-cross after seeing the car in person and having had a test drive. In my evaluation, this is a great car. However, I have a specific question for you: The 1.3 Zeta appears as the most VFM, but lacks the HID projector headlamps and the leather upholstery.

What is your opinion on the 1.3 Zeta's headlamps, especially for night-driving on the highways with oncoming traffic on high beams? Are the headlamps on the Zeta using projectors but without the Xenon lamps? I am sorry if this was discussed before, then kindly refer to the post where this was discussed. I have a lot of difficulty with our current two cars (a 9 year old Hyundai Getz and a 4 year old Honda City) driving on our highways in the night. The Getz is the one going to be replaced. We are looking at everything from small (like i10 Grand) to relatively bigger cars (like the Creta), but in the process has my eyes fixed on the S-cross. How I wish it came in petrol, but I loved that DDiS200, despite all the cabin noise.

Zeta Variant does not come with Projector lights. The stock lights are okay within city limits but may not be adequate on highway drives.
I have changed to Philips Xtrem Vision bulbs (H412V, 60/55 W) and seem adequate in my daily drives. Cost of bulb is ~INR 524/ per bulb. Had only done one highway drive since then. They are from MGA and was done during a regular service.

Suggest You try them, if not there are other members upgrading to the projector set-up but they are normally not done by MS and could void warranty.

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Hello, I spotted you and your car on CMH road,Indiranagar last evening. The car looked extremely well kept and those alloys look so handsome on the car. The wheel arches looked filled up as well. Cheers

Re: Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross

Fourth Service update at 18100 Km - earlier than the schedule, due to the 3rd been done at 9.5 k km + needed to do it before April showers/ monsoon!

Prior to service !
Above the Ordinary : My Crossover, the Maruti S-Cross-20170320_171923.jpg

Experience at Service center ( views are in comparison to the VW service center that I visit frequently)

Overall - Extremely satisfied and rated 9/10.

- On Schedule both on receiving and delivering the car.( 9 AM - 1 PM)
- No fuss in customer being with the car while being serviced and additional
unscheduled minor work accommodated
- Got a discount( without asking) on total billing as I never take the offered
free washing.
- Very well informed SA.

The regular niggles like the vibrations on the glass ( when not fully closed), squeaking driver seats ( looks a foam issue) was not pressed for as I know there is no immediate solution to it.
