Suman, ah what a journey of these some 30odd pages of your ownership thread, one thing i must say is that your ownership has made one to know and understand tata safari in a much better way then one could have done himself without owning one like me.Congratulations on your ownership, having a trip of a lifetime to Leh, and maintaining your safari in such a wonderful way.Wishing you and your wheels more happy miles ahead.
Would your replacement of your safari 3.0 would be another safari 2.2 too?

Thanks Vijay! Now that's a very difficult question you've asked me. I can only say that by the time the replacement issue crops up (maybe another year & a half from now?), I hope there will be other reasonably priced alternatives. At the moment there are none. I had high hopes about the Fortuner pricing but 20 lacs is way too much to pay for "peace of mind" alone. I guess the Grand Vitara diesel (if/when it comes) will not be very much cheaper either.

So, at the moment, it may very well be a Safari 2.2. Unless the new Safari comes in by then - I'm sure if it does, it will be at a way lower price than the rest of the pack. And one can only hope & pray that Tata's QC improves by then because they are the pits at the moment

Thanks mate. You must do Leh, you have one of the most capable vehicles to do it in. I saw your Rohtang pics, absolutely smashing!

Congratulations for the 66666!
But then you also have to keep in mind the 3000 rpm redline and the fact that engine wouldnt go over 2500 rpm in 5th gear!

Either you have never driven a 3.0 DiCOR on the highway or the vehicle you drove had a problem. The 3.0 DiCOR hits a top speed of 160 kph - the engine is at ~2700 rpm in 5th.
