Center pin greasing perhaps? Full lock situations, try & gun the motor a bit as it puts a lot of pressure on the power steering pump otherwise

clang clang noise as i know is a normal phenomenon in diesel SUVs worldwide. Have read many international articles as well. No way out except greasing from time to time

Quick update on my EX:

A/C condenser fan started making strange vibrating noise last Monday evening. Took it to the TASC on Tuesday morning and the fan assembly was changed under warranty. Remembered steeroid's post regarding the same and asked the TASC - they said this was a rare issue.

Did a ~1000 km trip after that over the weekend - no further issues. 7000 km so far - I'm happy with the Safari.

Hi

I am facing something funny with the ac as well.. it make some strage humming sound.. previously, i ignored it but now its catching my attention. The moment I put on the AC, or the blower, there is a humminng sound, like a bee (you know what i mean) Is it something, i need to worry about. Also on the outside, when ac is put on there is a sound of AC working over and above the sound of the engine

Please advise...

In my case, the vibration was only when the A/C was on. With A/C off and only the blower on, everything was normal.

Definitely the condenser fan - please get it replaced ASAP under warranty.

What is the duration of the warranty ? Makes sense to have the extended warranty here I believe

Update to 8500KMS

Update to 8500KMS

So far so good except a few oncoming show stoppers.

Bad things...

1. AC making lots of noise, which we believe is the condensor fan going kaput ( god, what would have happened if hadnt taken extended wrnty )

2. EGR modulator needs a HARD relook, and am going to be present throughout in front of the vehicle during the 2nd service..
(please tell me is it a switch (bosh or padmini make) or its a big cylindrical thing with a pipe connecting to the padmini/bosh switch)

3. some sort of a minor leakage happening from where the sensor os coolent temperature sensor .. lot of dust accumulated there.

Good things..

1. lesser smoke now from before, i filled normal diesel only and the observation is based on 2 tankfulls. I also observed that the smoke which was present during the night time against other vehicles light has become lesser. may be a good cleanup of the catcon and egr is required.

2. milege seems to be never going below or above 11.5 nowdays, with or without a/c

3. Lesser vibrations from before and i feel it will improve after 10K servicing.

well so long, will update this thread with my second service details soon.

Rahul

To buy or Not to buy..

Hay Guys.. I am new here, I just read through all your posts, very informative..I guess i am in the right place to clear my doubts..!!

I am getting a Safari4wd this weak, I test drove both the Scorpio and the Safari, although the with the Safari you get loads of goodies like Bumper cam and LCD displays but the new Dicor Engine seems average at best... The Scorpio on the other hand looked cheap compared to Safari the Engine really impressed me, it was pretty quick on the throttle and handled bit better than the Safari...

Now I am confused.. Should i go for the Safari with the overall good features but slower engine or should i go for the Scorpio with its Average build but great engine.. !!

Also i found out the Safari is coming out with a newer models, does anyone have any idea about that?? Whats new and should i wait??

Any help is really really really appreciated.. Thanks guys..
