Fiat gives spares to the ASCs strictly on Cash only basis, while most of the other manufacturers give credit facility to their ASCs.

So none of the Tata-Fiat ASCs want to hang on to a large inventory.

[This information was posted earlier by a TBHPian, which was later confirmed by TML]

Like I said in the earlier post, I'm ok with the time. But getting vague / misleading replies is a definite NO NO
This is why FIAT management sucks and the reason why there is no dealer interest in selling FIAT vehicles earlier. I wonder, even with TATA tie-up they are following this is very strange. If this continues, FIAT india's burial is in sight.. Why FIAT india still sleeping like Kumbkorna..

Are you saying that the dealer is giving you spare car? If that is so, it is good on his part.
I hope your saga ends soon.

&@@#$%^&
I have faced the exact situation in Jan 2008 when Accelerator cable gave up. The A** came with accelerator cable and smiling face, upon check they realised that they have the 1.2 cable which cannot be installed on 1.6...(this happened inspite of telling that I have 1.6 model)

I can imagine the pain and anger you might have gone through. These guys dont know what they should get to service the particular model...

I feel the technical apptitude and common sense laggs in case or Tata service personnel..

i think if this continue like this, FIAT will have to shut shops in India before linea and GP launch ......

Even when the practices of FIAT (as the entity supplying the spares) are put up on the forum, I wonder why people persist in blaming TATA.

I hope your car gets sorted at the earliest.

The TML is offering, not the dealer.

Tata is tied up with Fiat for Sales & service. They cant just do the sales part & not do the service part properly.

If they want to provide proper service, the onus is on Tata to stock the spares. (Its irrelevant whether they pay cash or getting credit)

Of course, Fiat could speedup the dispatch of spares in cases like this.

Superb.

FIAT has a tight inventory of spares and huge inventory of cars. What a bunch of fools.

Is FIAT reading?

Was wondering why each of the car makers in the country is not actively reading the posts on T-BHP.
Has anyone specifically shown them that this forum exists?

Or maybe they ALL read it!!

If any sane manufacturer was reading on TBHP, we wouldn't be writing here

i can empathize with what you are going thru, a car breaking down is normal, but the appalling level of service you have received thus far, reeks of incompetence, the only saving grace is they offered a spare car

Did you include this link in the mail you sent to FIAT?

Another way to resolve things is to ask the help of an auto magazine. It helps and rather quickly, as I have personally experienced.

Unless of course, their mailboxes are filled with such Fiat complaints and they treat it as just another day on office.

But do threaten them with this and the consumer court though, fingers crossed.
