ripper is right. Just take care of the first few seconds and you can chug along happily in 2nd. Works for Verna, should also work for the Getz.

No sir, its not the lip thingie, as we speak the car has managed to get its bumper displaced! coincidence or not. Problem area is the front bumper and the center part of chassis, thanks to overhang and long wheel base.

Same car park approach, where diff cars (make and models) clear easily.

feather the brakes, for those initial 2-3 secs and you're all set to drive in 2nd gear, with engine idling during thick traffic.
it starts rolling as soon as u release the clutch and it happens till it reaches 1000rpm after that it settles down..

Frankly, this is the first time i'm hearing of GC issue with Getz...Either something is wrong with suspension or the bumps in koramangala are too high....

1200kms update!!

My Bright silver has done 1200kms in 20days and my cousin's CRDi has done 2800kms..
My ride has till now given a FE of 15.5, 14.5 and 16.1 kmpl in three tank fulls. My cousin gets 15.5kmpl consistently as he's more consistent in maintaining speeds unlike me...

I remember reading Top speed of 152kmph and 170kmph in some magazines..!!! PURE CRAP !!!
I did 185kmph @ just under 4000RPM n it was still ready to go more..and still i got 14.5kmpl..

Is it recommended to drive that fast, you know during "running in"
I've done max 90km/hr (~2200rpm) in my Swift VDi.

I'm waiting for around 3k to give it the full juice.
I'm not the expert, feedback on this please guru's

Almost forgot that part, Congrats on the new car, kpzen sir ji.

Congrats on your new car , it's a great car except for the multi-coloured interiors.

I had an Accent VIVA CRDi, brilliant car, but weird beige interiors with a Silver body - did not quite agree with me.

I'd have changed the dashboard & all interior plastic colour to a dark grey had I kept the car any longer.

Have you done 185 kmph on stock tyres , you are a brave man. Have fun with the new car & drive safe.

Cheers

Oh well, you guys are too held up in "top speed" of a car in its first 1000kms ?
Is it recommended to drive that fast, you know during "running in"

Or the so called new gen engines does't need this ?

I have a Getz GLX with 175/65-14 Goodyear GPS2 tube type tires. The car came with OEM alloys and the manual says 5.5j rims. How can I find out if it is conforming to the manual?
