6. Sparco has some big mud flaps but that may spoil the look of the car.

OT :I guess i saw your car in Bangalore. Which part of Bangalore did u come to ?
I've read few threads where a oil change is recommended at the first service, because the oil will have metal slivers from the breaking-in- it is there in this thread too: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/owning...r-new-car.html

Its not "that" burr, this is something additional- and it comes from the front somewhere- and it coes at any gear or even idle if revved to about 1500-1600 RPM.

Let me check the Sparcos- I definitely don't want to spoil the looks

OT: I was staying in CITI NEST in Indra Nagar, and headed to KR Puram on Sunday. Was doing the rounds in & around Indra Nagar too.

Another question- When i changed the wheels & tires, I filled Nitrogen with 32 in the back and 30 in the front. Though I know the ride will become stiffer, I feel it is too stiff. Those who have up-sized- what are your tire pressures? I am thinking 28/30 for rear/front- is that a good idea, or shall I have 30 all around?

Btw, why did you fill up to 32 psi at the rear, in the first place?

Great buy dude! Congrats and heres wishing you a lot of safe miles ahead. I read you wanted to go in for a K&N - instead go in for the green cotton. It does not produce sound like the K&N and is easier to clean. Nice color, nice rims and good tires too. The best tyre pressure for the car would be 30 all around(saves the tyre and keeps you happy too). Please fill normal diesel only and as you said the brakes are good enough. And please dont worry too much about the brrr sound that can not be stopped yet.

Cheers/Shyam

It costs Rs. 4200 here at Bangalore. K&N costs 4600 bucks. Don't know the prices at the other places though.

Let me check green cotton out too. The K&N prices seem close to what I heard here...

Congrats ph03n!x for the Getz CRDi. Looks like you are enjoying the car.

Regarding the burr sound you are getting, i could say that it is because of upsizing the tyres. I faced this problem earlier as it was pretty loud even with music system on. The only solution is to try various combination of tyre size (as per my knowledge).

Air pressure - Maintain 32 front and 30 rear as i do. My car is running on 205/50-15 and found 32/30 as best.

Does K&N makes sound? Is it some kind of whistle?

Thanks DJay I rushed to get this beast least Hyundai should decide to pull the plug, and give us a i20 with 77 BHP mill!!

I guess i should have called the noise as grrrrrr or karakarakara- not really a burr that comes from the tires or if the engine is under 1500 RPM. This seems like something rattles every time the engine crosses 1500 or so RPM.

Let me try the air pressure suggestions, I guess 32/30 or 30 all around should work, and not what i have now!!

Wheels look fantastic on your black car. Coupled with the wide tyres.
You need mud flaps or say ta-ta to your floor in a few years, being in Chennai.
