krish there are many such home made remedies but try them at your own risk , when using alcohol remember that it is flammable and our TC engines run at a temperature easily over the flash point of alcohol.

Alcohol may dissolve the oils in the dirts but it will also end up bursting into flames on touching something hot

Hi krish,

Have you tried the Windsheild Cleaner from Waxpol !!! Retails at Rs 40 and is Blue colour Liquid. Have been using that for 3 years now and works like a charm !

what i like best about it is it doesn't leave streaks of water after you spray clean your glass. Check it out !

Forgot to mention, just put 2 caps by measurement to the water tank and topup the same that should last you till the next refill.

Where is Waxpol available? I think I will buy a packet/bottle each of Wurth and Waxpol and try each one out. Thanks Jimmy for the suggestion.

2000 kms completed with a trip to Tirthahalli.

Its been one month since I've bought the Getz. Its now completed 2000 kms with a trip to Tirthahalli. During the to and fro journey of 688 kms, the rocket returned a mileage of 17.87 kmpl. This is superb considering the road and traffic conditions and the speed which I was driving at.

The best thing about the Getz is its comfort. Its got a big car feel to it, and eats up the bad roads with ease. There is a bit of roll but its a pleasant one. The beautiful suspension made our drive worthwhile and less tiring.

It masks its speed very well. I thought I was doing 60-70 kmph on NH-206 & NH-13, but a glance at speedo and a warning from wifey made me realise that I was doing around 120+ kmph. I was wondering why everyone was driving so slow and now I knew why. I never pressed the accelerator hard, but still the car just flew. The engine also feels more like petrol and doesn't give an impression of being an oil burner.

Some pics.

I generally do not accelerate hard, hence the good mileage I've got in all cars till now. I can say Getz gives me the least mileage but most pleasure. I don't care for mileage in this car, if its gives, then I'm happier. The max I touched in this drive was 170 kmph on NICE road, but that was for like 10-15 secs.

Cam is a very basic point and shoot model. Its a Sony DSC-W120 Cybershot. The place is far more beautiful that what I could capture in the pics.

Hi Krish3

Congrats on owning a rocket hatch. You are one of the few lucky ones who got this car. I have been trying to locate one but unsuccessful. I feel getz CRDi should not have been discontinued.

Any ways the pics that you have posted are really good. I specially liked the last picture, that is really awesome.
