Hi Dot,

In my Civic all power window switch casings are badly scratched. When I asked my local guy for advice he said that, since it was powder coated it could not be repainted by normal process.

He is quite obviously not a Team member and so knows nothing of Scorponok.

Can I seek your advice on the issue?

Is it a very complicated job?
I mean, can the casings be opened easily?
Any special paint to use?
And,
How is the paint on your casings holding up?

Thanks, Dot. BTW, you are a prince among men.

Even Scorpo's casings were pretty badly scratched. Honda's coating is not scratch resistant. The paint shop guys gave a shot of regular silver spray paint, the same one which is used for body. It took less than one hour to complete the job. Till date they have been holding on. It has been 10 months.

One of them has a new scratch, but that was during the ICE installation when we had to take off the casings and the door trim and a screwdriver slipped over the casing.

You can ask the paint shop guy not to think so much and just do it

There are lot of people who will do power coating on the existing casing. They will sand blast the original coating and then coat it again. It's a one day process but it will be scratch resistant.

I did the same here (yep more than 10 months back).
After the silver paint was coated, I gave a Lacquer (Clear coat) coated, it still looks like mirror finish.
I paid around 700Rs for the same to get done in a Local paint workshop.

re: My preworshipped Honda Civic - Scorponok. Now with Vtec indicator

It has been quite a while since I uploaded some pics of the Scorponok. Had a chance today to undertake a minor photoshoot on a road that is yet to be thrown open to public. Take a look.

Nice snaps dot. I just love the second and third snaps. While the second one looks as if the kid is trying to wipe the car clean and make it shine, the third snap brings out the beautiful lines of the Civic.

Keep them coming regularly!

Absolutely loved the last pic of the set. Very well shot indeed. Scorpo looks as good as the day she was bought! Good going!

P.S: The new camera seems to be put to good use .

Dot sir, very good pics, especially the last one.

That reminds me that I have the same cam and I should shoot my Vista soon. BTW, what application did you use to process the pics? The one that came with the cam (PMB) is not too dynamic.

Sony HX100V rocks!

Dotty boy, amazing pics there! Is that your son near Scorpo?
Also, in the second last pic of the side profile, it seems that the driver side door has some minor knocks to it. Ever noticed that?

I havent checked out the Vtec indicator either. Any demo planned sometime this month? Also, some of us were supposed to go on a redlining trip/ drive for the Hondas. Time to revive plans and club with a photoshoot somewhere?

Satyen; I think this is the new road connecting Sangamwadi road and Airport road/ Golf course that some have been raving about.

Thanks a ton guys. Glad you liked em. Yeah, plan is to shoot more and post, now that the thread is in this "long term" section, which has given me the much needed license to add stuff.

Yes, we need to make the redlining session happen soon. And thats my son in the second pic.

Yeah, enjoying the camera. Taking it everywhere at the moment. Using paint.net for processing.

Thats right. The road is ready, but not yet open to public. Anytime soon, I suppose.

Nice pics dot, please share more.

I was searching for Honda City's owner manual over the net but found Civic's owner manual in pdf format. Since there is no official review I thought of sharing the link on a active Civic thread as this may be helpful for some guys.

Have a look and see if it matches with current Civic.

What all do you do to maintain the OEM Alloys in your Civic, Abhijit?
