re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

I had increasingly recurring issues with the blower on my 3 year old Nano Twist. Till one fine day, there was no air coming from it at all. I took it to Climate workshop at Karve road (opposite Garware college). He said the blower fan is a common issue with all Nanos and needs to be replaced. Cost was around 4.5k

At the time, I did not want to go all the way to Concorde. I do have to go there this weekend to drop the car for some bodyshop work. Some moron in a small tempo came too close for comfort and left deep scratches on the left C pillar and a cracked bumper.
I hope they are decent in terms of their work and will help with insurance claims!

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

After 1 week spent with Tata motors, Nano is back home and this time AC sounds normal to my ears ( last time it was making weird noises ).
Fingers crossed, hopefully AC issue has been fixed completely.

I returned my loaner car - Nano CNG XM after using it for 400kms.
It ran very well for a car which had done 26k under numerous people who I am sure would have abused it a lot.It being a loaner car was also not serviced on time as per my SA.

This week,my friend bought home a Nano twist LX second hand.
This was a really sweet deal since car had only run 12k kms and is a 2014 immaculately maintained model just for Rs 1.15 lacs.
Will be posting pictures of that car here soon.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

Rear Stock tyres replaced with Bridgestone B290 after 44k kms.
Darshan tyres Baner - Cost is Rs 2600 per tyre.

This has transformed ride quality ( Which had become harsh ) by good margin.

Wow! As a fellow Dazzle Blue Tata Nano owner, I must say this looks fab! I also wanted to do such a change in my Nano, but I guess I will not need to do it if I can sell it in the coming months and buy an MPV as my next buy.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

8 Years completed on 21st March 2019.
ODO stands at 44800kms now.

Issues : None

Was going to celebrate that but have been engrossed in hospital duties for a family member since 21st, and its here that Nano has been a real savior. Finding parking when you are short of time, has been easy with Nano.

Will hopefully celebrate soon and share pics here.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

My Car is closing in on 9 years, 21st March is the date.
48K plus on ODO, I took Nano to TATA service last week.

Its the same Concorde ( Now Bafna Motors ) at tathwde and same SA ( Shankar ).

As expected service was top notch and car was given a good exterior polish/coating at Tata motors.( Cost Rs 1200 )
Both front suspensions were changed and ride height and comfort has increased.( Took 3 days for parts to arrive inspite of being in Pune PCMC! )

Things to be done next month : Change 2 locks and left side fog lamp + interior cleaning.

As is the case everytime I get it serviced, car has become butter smooth.
Service has become very costly now, its 5200 for routine service for a Tata Nano ( No wonder I could see less rush at Tata Service these days ).Thus I have made up mind to visit them every 1.5 years going ahead.

Total bill was 12k.

Outcome was

Do wait for pictures on this thread, she is looking really good so will take good quality pictures and upload.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

An update after a long long time. Car is currently @ 53k and going strong.
It is now 10 years and 6 months old. Gives me 16-17 kmpl in city conditions.

It had the most expensive service till date costing 12k, but have got rid of almost all the issues in the car ( Wear and tear parts included ).

It continues to give me a feeling of joy, excitement and pride even today.
It is used as a beater car, but not treated as one.

Has a few minor things which need a fix , like the reverse parking sensors, and radio antenna.

This is how it looks today

Mid life refresh.
Added 1inch foam on back and base of front seats.

Seat covers were plain, so added that black patch to make them look a little lively

Standard door pads were boring, these in dual tone make the car look a little premium

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

Nano is closing on completing 11 years soon. This week had to get AC gas filled for 2.2k rs, apart from this its serving us well.

I have shifted to a location far away from my usual TATA service station and hence this time plan to give Nano to service to a FNG for the first time in 11 years! Lets see how it goes.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

For the first time in all of these almost 12 years, Nano was serviced outside of Tata. It was serviced at a FNG. The service done was as good as Tata. They replaced all spark plugs, topped up some coolant, cleaned all the brakes and voila she was ready to hit the city.

Service cost total was 6.3k

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

Car got all its rear parking sensors replaced. Brand Sonilex, 4 sensors with small display unit. Cost 1400k. With Camera, and 4 parking sensors car is now well equipped for parking duties. I have put in my old SJCAM 5000 as a dashcam ( It has dedicated dashcam mode ).

Car will be used by better half going ahead and hence getting it in perfect shape was the target.

Frankly i didnt expect this little wonder to last beyond 3 years when i purchased it. It has not only completed 12 years and 60k kms really well, but is now a daily runner doing 30kms daily.

Who says TATA cars dont last long

Re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

Its when you replace the old ones with new, you know you were foolish to carry on with old ones for so long. The difference in looks and illumination is massive.

Cost 4.3k for a pair. These are Genx Nano headlamps.
Fitting cost : 0 ( replaced them myself took me an hour- was good time spent )
