Anyone has used electromagnetic sensors ? This has no drilling, body colour touching etc. required. Link here Ford Parking Sensor | No Holes | Front & Rear Reverse Parking Sensors
I was curious to know how much it would cost when shipped to India. No clue if there is any other brand with similar product here. Suggestions appreciated !

I have it for over a year - always worked.

BTW, their showroom is in Basavanagudi, opposite to Krishna Rao park. Google map here.
Website: Welcome to RedSoul. You can avoid dealer's cut, if you directly buy from them.
Hi,
I have another query. Is there anybody who has used the mirror integrated display on Altis G. The dealer told me that he doesn't recommend the integrated display on G variant because it has antiglare mirror. On base version of Corolla, he says, it is okay to do so.

The difference between dashboard display unit and mirror integrated one is hardly 1000 rupees. I would like to go for the mirror version.

Please suggest!

Redsoul is good for parking sensors. BTW why 18000 for the reverse cam and display? i checked out with dealers here. The reverse camera with night vision has a dealer price of around Rs. 1100.00 only for a good quality one. So the retailer may give it for Rs. 1500.00 Max. If they are charging exorbitant charges for cam, it can be bargained to anywhere near 1200-1300 depending on the bargaining skill.

There are also cheap Chinese cams available for around Rs.800.00 but not worth it.

The inbuilt screen in the reverse mirror is good for screen display than mirror. It can also be connected to a DVD player and used as screen. But its a distraction to driver. More over these mirrors have a darker screen and may not give much clear rear view for normal driving when the reverse cam is off but make a good screen(thats my personal opinion). You may check it out you self.

These displays cost around 4-5000 rupees.

I suggest you to get these fit outside the showroom somewhere in JC road.

I feel it better to go for separate display for reverse cam and not to fiddle with good quality stock mirror.

The Altis has automatic antiglare mirrors. If you opt for the mirror display then the antiglare mirror will be useless.

Vid, will using a mirror display disable the antiglare feature? I am trying to understand what they might change.

They remove the existing mirror of the car and fix the new one with inbuilt display in the place where the stock was.

Hi,

Usually it is a clip on mirror which is put over the regular mirror for camera display.

So it would cover the sensor for the automatic dimming. Moreover you would not be able to see any part of the original mirror.

The screen in this type of mirror when the camera picture is off and so it does not have much glare in the night. In fact, it won't be very bright either in the daytime.

Hi,

To add to my post above, I managed to click two snaps of my rear view mirror clipped over the regular one.

Reversed and parked in a small lane:

With the camera on:

With the camera off:

Thank you very much guys (rajesh, trrk, srikanth) for the answer. I guess, I would not go for the mirror integration as the auto antiglare mirror in Altis is pretty good. I should go for a dashboard display or even a beep based reverse parking system.

You can go for the reverse cam with external display. This display can act as entertainment system when connected to a DVD player when reverse is not in use.

Ok Guys here is an advice after one year of usage , The audio beep suddenly stopped from my red soul reverse sensor.
My brain was so much used to the beeps that my safari nudged a parked esteem outside gate of my apartment gentally. I just thought there was still few centimeters despite seeing the image and reading on the Mirror.
There was no visible sign of impact on safari but sadely a big dent on the front side of esteem.

Actually the sensor controller module was left loose near to tail light assembly by installer so due to vibrations the audio connector jack of Audio buzzer became loose.
Now I have given one turn of wiring around the sensor and secured it with tape and also fixed the sensor to the surface with double sided tape.

Please make sure that the installer fixes the controller box to the panel with double sided tabel and does not leve loose inside , Also turn the audio cable around the box and put tape to secure.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I guess, I need to get used to it as well. One dumb question, other than the stuff getting loose, does the sensors loose the sense of distance after a few months usage? :P

No sensor does not loose the sense of distance ,The minimum distance is still 30 Cms and then it shows STOP sign..
Just that I was depending too much on audio rather then visual information.

I have been using sensors for more than 2 years now and still working perfectly fine. But problem in using them are you get prone to reversing with em, and when you drive a vehicle without reverse sensors, you automatically tend to wait for beep to stop the car.

It happened to me when i drove my friends Innova with dark tints. I took a reverse and did not notice a coconut tree and hit it in reverse. Luckily i was in low speed so there wa just a small line on the rear bumper. But this happened as i got accustomed to my reverse sensors in my car.
