Usually you don't need any thing in/for Figo. However if you think you need it, install reverse sensor. It saves your pocket and does its job (camera will add little more). I always suggest not buy it from showroom. RS installation doesn't cuts any wire, so it won't void any warranty (as Showroom might claim) if you do it outside. The price difference is enormous.

I had reverse sensor installed in my fiesta from Redsoul directly! Same model quoted by lathangi is 6.5K, where redsoul gave me for 3.5K! My parking system has a 4 back sensor, with distance shown in IRM (its IRM comes with RPS).

If youre sticking with the factory HU, take the sensors.
cheaper.
If planning to upgrade to a compatible 2DIN, then camera will work out the same.

Sensors seem to work better, cameras get covered in mud/spray during the rains, for example, when they are needed the most!

No such complaints with my camera sensor, but then I do not go off roading

I also got an extra wiring + switch installed to use the sensor even while driving and this has been helpful in maintaining safe distance from autos and other aggressive drivers in bumper-to-bumper traffic, signal stops and turns etc.,.

@vjoy3: please elaborate.dont these sensors warn acoustically?
would be annoying to hilt in b2b traffic....
or do you use just the visual cues, cutting out the sound.

No they don't warn acoustically during regular driving - just the live visuals. Got the setup done in showroom itself since I wanted these extra wiring and a bill to show just in case had issues.

re: The reversing camera & parking sensor thread

Hi all,
I plan to install parking sensors for my Civic, want to go in for 6 sensor set up (2 front and 4 rear). Have sent an inquiry to RD for 950 and 970 models.
Does anyone have them installed on their cars?

Regards

re: The reversing camera & parking sensor thread

Hi,

Has anybody thought of buying an OEM camera-mirror set from new Hyundai Verna and fitting it on other cars? Will it work? How much does it cost?

re: The reversing camera & parking sensor thread

I have a question on the acoustic parking sensors - How accurate can they be? I usually park my car very close to the wall and looking for a solution that gives an indication of the distance between the rear bumper and wall to the last mm. The standard one's that i have seen are programmed in such a way that they give a warning indication when the distance is around 50mm of so from the object, but doesnt do a count down till the last mm. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions for me?

I got redsoul 4 sensor installed in my grande punto and it works flawlessly. The display is through a small unit placed on the dash. Cost including fitting 3.5K. It has voice in place of buzzer. It keeps showing distance till 0.3m, below which it says "STOP". Will post a small video demo tomorrow.

why would you want get so close?
50mm is just 5cms.
most of these sensors are preprogrammed with such a threshhold, so its highly improbable that youll get something OTS looking at the last mm also.
plus its got something to do with sonics also, that the feed generated at such low levels may/may not be accurate.
you could try a video option if you want to get so close.
a camera with 120+ degree field of view perhaps?
