i'll let you know as soon as I work on this - maybe with a few snaps
Thanks buddy, for your prompt reply. It is actually so irritating when the rear view mirror vibrates. Many thanks for the suggestion.. with surely do the same.

I am quite surprised... a company like Autocop should have provided a solution for this. Whenever a company launches product they do multiple testing and surely they would have encountured the same problem and not providing the solution for it

Yea you are right - initially I was in an impression that my particular installation was at fault - then I drove my cousin's SX4 with the same setup - and the result was the same irritating vibrations.

- also saw your inclination to go for flippy keys( i "was" searching for my SX4 too) - message me if you do find a dealer in Delhi/NCR, I am not interested to courier my keys, would prefer to get these done in front of my eyes

I am so inclined to convert my car keys into flip keys... may be one day i will drive to Chandigarh just for this. I have the same concern, certainly don't want to courier the keys.

But certainly i will give my feedback to Autocop RPS.

Glad to know you also drive SX4 , i just bought one :-)

Even some SUVs dont believe in providing it as a factory fitment option, the BMW X1 comes without the read camera, though the sensors are their, but the smaller size of the boot windshield as well as due to perched up back stance of the X1 sometimes i do strongly feel the necessity of a reverse camera, though sensors have done their job relentlessly without letting me down even once.

I have in mind the SatNav 4.3 Premium Navi which has an AV IN. I was wondering if its possible to set-up a reverse parking camera which could use the SatNav as a video out ?

Came across this product online, but no personal experience on this. I believe this should be something that should fit your requirement.

Reverse Camera with Audible Parking Assist for Non-OEM Headunits

Hey guys!

This is something that has been on my mind and something that I have been on the look out for quiet some time now. Not sure if such a system is available or available yet.

Since only the high end cars usually come with a touchscreen car entertainment system which also double up as a screen for the reverse camera and parking sensors; I was wondering if such a system is available for aftermarket / non-OEM head units where in along with the reverse camera, one can also have the audio/visual parking assist displayed on the screen instead of a separate screen for the same.

I am currently using the Alpine ICS-X8 head unit in my Polo 1.6 and have also fitted a universal reverse camera which works perfectly with the unit. However, I do not get the additional functions like '4-way view' which consists of top, panoramic, side, etc views which is available on the camera units provided by Alpine. Now, the only reason i did not go in for an Alpine camera is because one has to drill a hole in the bumper to fit it. The one I have replaces the number plate housing which makes it look stock and prevents the need for drilling holes. So stock looks but at the cost of full functions.

Now during my usual search on the internet, I cam across this

http://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/camera58/hce-c305r

which seems to be matching my requirements of a reverse camera with audible warnings but at a whooping INR 30k!!

Is such a product worth this price? Also, are products like these available here in Mumbai / India and hopefully a more reasonable price?

Re: Reverse Camera with Audible Parking Assist for Non-OEM Headunits

not sure if this would work, but If your HU has a RCA IN then there is a model from 3T Plus which has a RCA output and can be easily integrated with the existing screen of the HU. I am using their product but the O/P is connected to my GPS PND rather than a music system and it works fine.

the problem with this model would be its set of 4 sensors + 1 camera all input going to a processing using powered by reversing light and giving a RCA out i.e 5 holes in the bumper. but its less than 10K including a small screen...

Hey Maneesh, I've got the sensor+camera installed on my Sunny. Got it done at the dealers' since they had a clause that if it was done from outside, it would void the warranty. Cost me abt 8K, after lots of haggling (family members are really useful in some situations )

Having driven a Santro for abt 7 years, the first few days in the Sunny without the sensors was a pain since the estimates were way off target (leading to a few scratches in the rear).

There are 4 rear sensors camera in the center, below the number plate. There's an IRVM fitted display with a 3-4" output unit that shows anyone / anything behind the car. Additionally, there's a lady who warns me if there are objects less than 1m away from the car - with "stop, stop, stop" if anything is less than 0.4m away.

IMO, very useful gadget - atleast I've not hit anything / anyone after getting this installed.

Not sure abt the brand, but I guess anything below 10k should be good enough.

HTH.

re: The reversing camera & parking sensor thread

I think having one or the other is highly desirable. Modern cars do not provinde very good rear visibility.

I have sensors on both my Civic (standard fitment) and Brio (dealer installed option). I recently sat in a Mahindra Çheetah' with a reversing camera as standard.

My comments, while a properly fitted camera will be better a lot depend on how much tinkering you want to do with your vehicle. The Honda sensors are also adequate.
