The electromagnetic parking system generates an elliptical field that covers sides of the car as well as the rear. And since it's just a strip attached to the inside of the bumper, no drilling is needed. Maintains the stock look of car.

In some cars, the bumpers might have crash protection elements which may hamper conventional ultrasonic sensor. Also, the electromagnetic ones don't get affected by dirt and grime as they are fitted inside.

How effective is this compared to the usual sensors? Have you tried it/seen in person?

Two of the rear sensors on my Wagon R have gone kaput, both of the right side. They don't detect anything now but those on left side do work. I'm planning to change them and have seen many such sensors on internet that are available at a much cheaper rate than those at service centers or outside shops. Are they any good? Should I go in for a rear-view camera system instead of a sensor replacement?

I also intend to use a reverse sensor as front by using them up front. Is it feasible?

Hi Everyone,

I recently got reverse parking camera installed in my Verna

While the camera works flawless and gives a great view even during the night, I struggle to get a proper view while driving as the the new screen which has been put on top of OEM rear view mirror gives a dark view and gets worse during the night

Is there any solution to it?

Ramit, this is to be expected, since that clip-on mirror will probably be made of an inferior grade of plastic, its primary purpose being that of your camera display. Also, if your original mirror has a day-night function, that will be rendered unusable. Further, if your IRVM is stuck on your windshield, as opposed to being screwed onto your headliner, you can expect the adhesive pad holding the original mirror to slowly come off, maybe after a year or so even, with the added weight of the clip-on mirror.
So, solutions? My neighbour and I faced these problems in our cars too, and this is what we did.
My neighbour doesn't mind the loss of clarity, so when his mirror fell of due to the added weight he scraped off the adhesive pad, cleaned the surfaces thoroughly and applied a superglue to stick the holder back in place. That was a few months ago and its held on so far.
I, on the other hand, wanted the day-night option, so fabricated a work-around to mount the reversing mirror on my dashboard, on hinges, so that I can just pop it upright when reversing and flip it down so that it is out of the way when driving. I don't have pics now but maybe later tonight I can click some and put them up here.

Hi again Ramit, seeing how eager you were for my pics I went down to my car park during my lunch break. I also found the pics I took during my fabrication attempt in August last year, in my HDD, so am adding them here.
1. Cutting the wood base to match the depression in the centre of the dash (I was really good in my woodworking class in school 39 years ago. Have had this fretsaw with me since then).
2. The components painted black: wood base chamfered to shape, hinges, scraps of wood shaped to fit on hinges, tie-wraps.
3. Hinges screwed into wood base, wooden scraps tie-wrapped to hinges, mirror tie-wrapped to scraps.
4. The contraption in lie-flat position.
5. Another view showing two sets of black tie-wraps per hinge.

7 Base was covered in double-sided tape. This didn’t last very long due to the residual polish on the dashboard, so I used Philips head cleaner on the depression in the dash, added Fevibond to the double sided tape, weighed it down overnight and its stayed put ever since.
8. Lying flat on the dashboard. The ugly grey foam was a temporary fix to prevent the mirror from bouncing and vibrating on the dash as well as to counter a little error in judging its lie-flat position. I also stitched a long, narrow sleeve out of black cloth to camouflage the cable and its connectors. It lies across the dashboard but is unobtrusive and somewhat protects the cable from the sun. The cable goes into the liner of the RHS A-pillar at its bottom end.

I have one question. I see a cable coming from the ceiling upholstery. If I attempt to place the screen elsewhere, how do I manage that as it will be seen hanging loose

What cable do you mean? I don't have anything hanging from the ceiling to the dashboard. If you mean that blue string, that's something I've hooked to the vent holes in the dash for another of my crazy ideas, but that's another story. That other big brown vertical line is a tree in front of my car
The cable from this mirror just goes along a groove in the dash, to the bottom of the right A-pillar, after which it goes invisible behind the lining
Let me know if you have any doubts.

I will click a photo and share it here...What I mean is that there is a cable coming from top which connects to hat TFT screen may be to provide power, I will get more clarity when I take a closer look in the evening and share a picture here

Oh, I get it. You're referring to your own car. Yes your cable would have been routed along the inside of your headliner. So was mine, and all I had to do was peel it out, unclip the panelling of the A pillar and reroute my cable.

hi..i am looking a reverse parking sensor for my wife's micra. Don't want to stick anything to the mirror or have that gadget with red and green lines. Can someone suggest an "only" buzzer rear parking sensor?

Guys, need suggestion on the available choices for about to be purchased celerio? Something with screen and not just buzzers is required. How much would it cost, and any warranty issues with Maruti after installing?

Reverse sensor kits are available without the display module also.

But if have the one with the display then you can just disconnect the display module or keep it in the boot.
