re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

A new garage has come up near my residence specialized in these exotics. Will snap and upload as I get them. Presenting the M800 Sports Version. Did not understand the underskirt in the front through.

This Versa was parked outside of my office few days back.

If the metal bumper was not enough, the guy actually had a custom glove box cover made of iron sheet and screwed on dashboard with door hinges. Sorry as I don't have a clear photo but take a look.

That reflection is my SX4 BTW

That Civic isn't half bad! Looks decent to me. Begging for fatter rubber though.

Don't know if this has been posted earlier. If already posted, mods please delete this post!

Spotted this Weird Scorpio & Xylo pic in KITUP's website. Some of their mods are OK.. but the scorp and xylo are . The infamous walrus tooth is extended to bottom

The headlights of the xylo surely enhance the front looks but the scorpio looks yuck!! I wonder who and why would someone to this with a scorpio.

What I find are several elements which add up the style. Dont get me wrong!! Overall its a horrible mod, a perfect fit for this thread

Some decent elements are
The raised roof upto the C pillar. The usual Safari low/high roof is smoothened into a flat roof. I think it looks much better this way

The better side claddings. Maybe Tata should look at something like this for a smooth, blemish free, macho looking cladding.

Had he not put the atrocious swift headlamps and put in a landroverish flat headlamps and a flat bonnetline, she would look great

Paint finish and overall execution is nice...

I also spotted similarly modified M800s at a garage near my home (one pic attached below).
Seems like these cars are favourites for small garages for such modofication jobs.

These cars are available at dirt cheap prices. No wonder they are favourite for Modification. While the modification seems okay, it raises the question the safety of the car. For example with the roof chopped off will it not affect the rest of the Chassis. And after Modification should we inform RTO about the Modification?

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

One thing I am not able to understand, WHY these desperate are distastefully modifying (Read Ruining) a wonderful M800 (Type-1) to such an UN-restorable condition.
I have this strong belief that by the time of 2020's these type-1 M800 will be considered as classic gems. Though small but have wonderful engines.
Second thought is that Maruti could revive the same type-1 (with an improved and powerful engine and little more contemporary features) rather discontinuing it. We still have Polo and Golf in the market revived through years.

It is more like that newbie modifiers get M800s dirt cheap and then experiment and learn on these cars. These cars are so cheap nowadays (and yet in running condition) that even if you dont want to keep them, you can easily get full amount back by selling as scrap!
