Gullwings, i think.

I wish he'd just stuck to that, instead of going "what else do you have in your shop?"

Though the work has been done by DC Design on this Gypsy, it looks a bit dated and a little weird today, 20 years after the job was done.

Why? Oh God! Why? Why does that 'deejiner' touches sacred cars like the Gypsy?

It looks just a like a Suzuki Vitara or Samurai of that period. No great design here, just a 'copy-spruce' job...

A Premier Padmini that was modified by the same DC Designs. The Fiat 1100D/ Padmini is so aesthetically pleasing to look at and I doubt if anyone could have given any touches to do a much better job other than Fiat, Italy itself.
Here is the weird and wacky product that was featured in Indian Auto of 1992.

I feel our eyes became tired of looking at the Fiats and Ambassadors then, as they stayed on and on for decades and so the thought of doing things differently germinated.

In fact D.C. started his modification to cars with working on his very own Maruti Gypsy in the year 1988.We had got our pickup Gypsy during that time and I went to him for body build on it.He pointed to his own Gypsy and gave a quote for the same.In those days very few were the people doing such jobs ,one of them were NICHOLAS and had their works at Vasai.

Saw this in a music video last night, I overlooked it first but when they did have a frame with the close up i realized that they had actually put that exhaust on the Thar.
Ps it looks like it came straight of a mahindra tractor

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

How and Why are we discussing DC at all...oh I just realised once again after looking at the padmini that he the father of wacky mod jobs. He is only superb in korejapenomericanizing a decent looking vehicle with retrofitting some gadgets.
Anyways I would have burnt down had that been my padmini, as it would be only option left after such job (It the wackiest of all so far on this thread).
Anyways DC is DC he ain't going to stop.

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

Saw this car about a couple of months back in Bhubaneswar. I wonder how do they open the hatch and keep it open. The weight of the spare wheel must be forcing the hatch to shut. One has to hold it to load bags.

I found this on my friend's facebook wall. I'm sure the donor car is a swift and guess that the car in the background is an omni.

No, this is a real HAMANN Evoque and the car in the background in a Mercedes G-Class, this is also not in India.

The inspiration for this design was probably this.
