BTW, Be aware that the licence for this software is device dependent. i.e. every time you change your phone, you will have to buy the software again !! Thats because the licence key is generated based on the device id of your phone to prevent piracy.

i recently bought myself the blackberry 8800 which has in built gps. but the maps for india are not available.

i contacted the company who provided the software (Tele Atlas) for the maps. They say they are still working on them.

Does anybody know how I can upload maps on my own?

In the meantime, you can try Live Search for mobile or Google Maps.

Guys,
Is there are demo version for satguide maps available!! I used Mapking for sometime and did not like it much due to limited POIs and accuracy reasons.. I want to verify the map accuracy by satguide before I go ahead and invest.. I guess they are the only one to provide Indian Highway maps; thats another good reason I'd like to go ahead with them.
Thanks.

the software itself, is not as userfriendly as blackberry maps. but atleast the gps works and there are maps of indian cities.

Has anybody tried RouteGuru - Landmark-based Driving Directions India

Seemingly, a new way to get driving directions, and is also from a Indian Software startup.

its wonderful. The google maps. but the GPRS is a must. There are no directions too. I mean the routing is not supported. But its pretty accurate.

map my india satguide is 22K

check mapmyindia site. they are offering GPS device with 3.5" screen, car mount etc + all india maps ( NH, SH, district roads + 7 cities maps) for 22K. i have checked their banaglore maps in certain locatins which i know found to be accurate. cross checked with google earth also. further their road maps at district level also seems ok as far as AP in concerned

Yup, I had a look at it,, its a Delphi nav200 hardware and with samsung 400MHz proc on it...
I somehow liked the mapmyindia maps and use it whenever I plan my trip...
However, I dont want to spend 22K for that device. I already have my old i-Mate PPC + GPSlim BT device sitting idle with me since I stopped using mapking sometime back...

Satguide All Iindia map is of no use. You can use it only for driving directions. On real time you will always [90% of the time] be off road. But their Hyderabad city map is accurate [95%]. But it is an old version and they have not released the new version. So most of the roads developed in the last two years are not displayed.
