Re: Which Projector Foglamps to choose? So many options in the market

I inserted a HELLA projector set up in my fog lamp space (perfect fit), and has been the best decision Lights up the road beautifully. Plus 4300K LED lights (Rs 9000) on low beam, and I'm set for rain.

Re: Which Projector Foglamps to choose? So many options in the market

Anyone upgraded the foglamps to these LED ones for their gen1 Ventos with the round foglamps? I am not sure if it'd accept 2" or 3" ones. I hear the Vento foglamp upgrade is difficult, due to the size of foglamp case/bracket? Is this true?
Very little information on the internet or here on team bhp.

Can you please share some pics of the fog lamp and light throw? Also, where did you procure them and install?

I don't recommend this combo of Hella Projectors with Led bulb for two reasons:
1) the Hella projector is not IP protected and is meant only for use inside headlights and not as a standalone fog light unit
2) the Hella projector is meant for halogen bulbs and again led bulb will not give you the right beam distribution

My recommendation is for AES 3 inch projectors - you can go for Tri colour ones , they are easily available around 8.5K and the light output is far better

On the contrary,
I would say 'go for it'!
I'm really happy with these.
Shall post pics of the phenomenal throw soon.

This is Hella Knight Street
M90 Dual Eye bi-LED module set
Comes with 'water protection', (says right there)
No issues faced even under pressure wash

Options:
4300K
5000K
6000K
Available in the UK

Re: Which Projector Foglamps to choose? So many options in the market

Any suggestions on what can work well for Kia Seltos 2023 in the budget of around 10k? The stock setup is not up to the mark on normal driving conditions, let alone during rains !

Here is the link to its current light setup - https://images.moneycontrol.com/stat...600&height=900

Re: Which Projector Foglamps to choose? So many options in the market

I have a 2015 1.6 scross zeta. I am thinking of upgrading the fog lamps. The current fog lamps are rated at 35W. The LED ones that i see online are rated 45-65W. Will changing to s higher wattage than 35W cause any damage? Also, between 2800K and 3000K, is there a big difference in terms of road visibility in foggy conditions or is the difference negligible?

Thanks in advance.

This is an easy upgrade for you. You can easily get 3 inch fog lights from AES/GTR or IPh to fit and ranging from wattages of 35w-50w. Any if these will work well and will not cause any issues. I recommend that you get the Aes tricolour ones as that will give you the best visibility in all weather conditions

This one is quite good:

Thank you @Behemoth.
I went to a nearby car accessories shop. He told me that LED fog lamps are good till 2 inch. For 3 inches, he said halogens fare better than LEDs and also said that he only installs Aozoom. It costs around Rs 17,000.

Is there any truth in LEDs not being good in 3 inch diameter. Also, the Aozoom model is almost double the price of AES or GTR. In your opinion, is it really worth the difference in money?

TIA

The dealer is absolutely giving you a completely false story and actually 3 inch projectors are optically better performing than even 2 inch projectors. Please stay away from such dealers and search for better ones!
Avoid Aozoom as Aes is a better product at a better price.
In Aozoom the dealers make almost 40% margin and hence are interested only in pushing them while others like Aes only give them 10-15% margin.

Just go to Alibaba and you will find the same projector for 5k. Upon that you might end up paying 1-2k customs and you can get that installed for another 300. You will end up getting a newer model for a lesser price and without false marketing and specs.

Alibaba is a wholesale website meant only for B2b business. Aliexpress used to be their b2c website and I used to order a lot from there till 2018. After that Aliexpress was blocked and it is now very difficult to buy anything from Chinese websites and have it shipped to India anymore.
Better to buy the Aes products in India' from authorised importers who sell them around 8-9k for the set.
