I face the problem of rear tires touching body only when the car is hugely overloaded ( like 5 heavy people sitting or while bringing basmati rice sacks from my home town in Punjab).
Otherwise, I find 155/65 R13 a perfect size for this little rocket. Specially on hills & curves, the handling is awesome!

Hi Guys, its great to see so many of you being great fans of zen,i really feel its a great car and it surely gives u tht instant response when u step on gas..

I would appreciate if you guys with the expert knowlegde could help me sort sum issues with my zen..

For starters mine is a 02 zen lxi,i bought it from true value,in total its clocked around 60k..from day one i have bein having issues with my braking,my brakes compared to my other family members zen(yes we own four zens)isnt even half,i got the brake fluid drained as it had become black(dnt knw how),the pads were replaced whn the car was sold to me,infact the braking system was serviced like twice but i didnt get the secure braking feel.

I would like to knw what can be done to improve the braking,is it possible to install a bigger booster, even the a-star braking seems so much better,is there anybody who could shed light on this??also any tuner who could shed light as to whats the entire process of installing esteem brakes??cost??etc etc

2)i am currently usuing ngk platinum plugs, besides tht i had a k&N filter which i later sold off as i actually felt the car lose power(hot air engine bay),shifted to pipercross but wasnt satisfied so went back stock.Any suggestions for a better filter tht wud actually contribute and not rob me of power.

3)Have got my freeflow replaced twice, both were automech complete systems, initailly the would be fine but after a couple of months the muffler would become unbearably loud(as good as a straight pipe)i didnt get ne solution to this problem frm vivek also.so now am usuing the headers, expansion and have welded to it the stock muffler, this gives a the cielo kinda exhaust note...have i done the right thing or m i doing something wrong to my engine??

4)Suggest some good mechs in banglore who can make this baby vroom faster, someone relaible,i dont want to go deep, maybe sum basic mods tht would make her rev more and shoot from point a to point b sooner....i had in mind the standalone ecu!but will just the standalone be enuf??

Pls give me sum ideas....

@ K Shanz..

I wouldnt mind driving down to coimbatore to fix her up(i hope your post was in reference to my post).

How much did the engine port and polish and complete exhaust cost you?

Are you sure there are good enough mechanics to sort my problems?the last i would want is drive all the way and come back dissatisfied..

Thanks for your inputs...

hey

1.the zen breaking always has problems with stock breaks try the esteem type 1 brakes it provides slightly better breaking than stock zen the type 2 esteem braking is much better than the remaining but also slightly costlier to.

have heard of people using brake booster of bigger cars like indigo do know about it you could just check it out.

2. not to sure on that you could try better placement of the air filter or a drop in filter.

3.have noticed this when the glass pack mufflers use the cheap glass wool they burn and make a irritating noise.

4. the stand alone would be a great mod or you could try the esteem block which is i feel the best.

check out with your local mass since i have seen mass doing this type of mods with the braking and doing a really good job to.

Well i had this in mind, buying the block of mpfi esteem and mating it to my zen!will this work?also in with this goes the standalone...however before all this my braking needs to be sorted out,as i m already having a tough time with the stock set up..

Pawan i suppose u had a e-zen!tht surely must me a fast baby..is it reliable as a daily drive.i mean i dont want to be breaking my head every second day with issues.most probably il be in banglore in the nest twoweeks...

thanks for your inputs..

hey, for relaible braking u can upgrade to an esteem booster, caliper & brake pads and that should help, i wanted to go in for the same setup in my car and then i called maruti to ask them for pricing on parts with all other itsy bitsy components as well it was coming upto 12k for parts plus mechanic labour but now i am scrapping the idea as i am selling my e-zen's engine, have also driven an e-zen with the braking setup mentioned above ( team game over car ) and it is very diff, what i mean is much more powerful, after driving that car i felt my car didnt have brakes at all.

the exhaust sound will keep on increasing as carbon gets deposited in the exhaust and there is nothing you can do about it, and yes you wil have a power drop in the car for sure as your endcan is stock, when i had got my FFE fitted in car i had told the guy i dont want any sound at all, he told me initially you put a smaller mouthed exhaust as a result u will loose power and no sound, but gradually sound will increase wheather you like it or not, so i ended up putting a bigger mouthed endcan to enjoy full benefits of the exhaust, first few hundred Kms there was rather no sound, but now it is very loud though, so to keep away from cops if u see them standing stop revving and for a few secs till u pass em switch off the ac that also reduces the sound considerably.

Hope this helps,
Zeeshan

It is looking nice, except for a few things.
1) Get white mirrors.
2) Why have you blackend the extremes of the headlamps? Get them back to original.
Just my suggestions. You can ask others about the same.

V. Good looking car Zeeshan!

I would have changed the grill to last generation Zen of same look ( I think Year 2000 - 2004), 2005 -06 model was having a different font & back. After that it was discontinued

Hey i just remembered seeing your car at Afzal's garage at bombay central a few months back if im not worng. I too got my ffe from there. I just saw the B.A.R sticker and recognized it. Very clean mods done.

I suggest you to blacken your B-pillar and also go in for side impact rubber (the black patti kinda thing on the doors) to complete the look.

do post pics of your engine bay soon.

I want the car to have a white and black combo, had those black pattis earlier, didnt like them actually, with jet black tints it becomes a little too black black, white mirrors also is something i personally dont like hence i stuck to matt black, the indicators and tail lamps which are smoked look nice, many people have also liked it and complimented me for that, so i guess its gonna stay, Sorry

Could someone shed some light on the muffler used in a ffe setup??
I ask coz like i posted before two of my automech mufflers have turned way too loud for daily drive,so i plan to replace them with magnaflow mufflers, however iam confused as to whther i should be buying muffler or a glasspack muffler..

here are the two basic classification listed....
1)Perforated stainless tube with packing.
2)Glasspack.

Here the main criteria is the car not being too loud...just a sporty sound.

What do u guys suggest?
should i replace the existing muffler with magnaflow muffler?Any feedbacks as to what it sounds like?I want to buy these coz they seem to be pretty well constructed and dont cost as much,so i guess they should last as long since the company claims to have a life time warranty on them.

Or do u guys suggest that i pick a muffler made from some tuner, again i dnt want to change my headers as i have no issues with them or the expansion, only issue is the muffler...

thanks guys
