Re: "The First" from the SPEEDSPORT stable !!

The Swift is doing great & is a hoot to drive. The Freelander however is now my preferred everyday drive.

Thinking of selling this off if I get the right price & get a Thar & get it built with a hardtop, alloys, off road MT tyres etc.

Let's see how it goes ! :-)

Hi Ricky, hope the turbo'd beast is doing well.

I really like the way you've got your headlamps painted black from the inside.
Could you tell how this is done and how much did it cost you?

Re: "The First" from the SPEEDSPORT stable !!

Ya the car is doing great. Has only done 5k or thereabouts since the turbo.

Got it done at Speedsport. Done long ago & as part of a whole other things - so really do not recall

Cheers

Re: "The First" from the SPEEDSPORT stable !!

Hi

The Swift was due for it's visit to the alma mater aka Speedsport !

So it went there & got a full service and some tweaking of the Haltech ECU

The car runs a lot smoother, with better acceleration & response, I was told it should even return better mileage / litre as well

All in all the car is performing better, starting is now almost like a normal stock car in cold morning starts, idle is smooth with & without AC, power delivery is even more brutal though !!

The odo reads 44500 kms

Enjoying every bit of the drive !!

Cheers

Re: "The First" from the SPEEDSPORT stable !!

The car is behaving wonderfully since the last service & ECU tweaking. No problems with the cold starts or any starts for that matter.

The latest feat it achieved was that it came in 3rd, on the track day this past Sunday. The first was a Porsche 911, the second was a 330i, and the Swift came in on the tail of the 330i !!

Had the rule of not overtaking at corners & turns not been there, it would have taken out the 330i as well.

The credit of the feat though goes not to me, but to Phil aka Speedsport.

So kudos to Phil for the "FIRST FROM THE SPEEDSPORT STABLE" Going strong and an absolute hoot to drive !!

Cheers

Dyno results were posted right in the beginning. It is around 150 at the crank. The effort is to boost it up to around 190-200 at the crank. The engine is getting a forged rebuild and a bigger turbo. Should run one bar boost or there abouts. For super technical details, check with Speedsport.

Cheers

Re: "The First" from the SPEEDSPORT stable !!

Thanks Phil, for posting the technical jargon for the Swifty. She was a hoot to drive to begin with, but now with all the upgrades :-) It is in another league. Running at almost 1 bar pressure is quite something.

Seeing it on the BIC track is a treat, I think I shall up my driving skills to handle the beast.

I think the next thing should be a nice paint job

Trying to upload a picture of the engine bay, unfortunately I am unable to reduce the file from 2.33 MB to under 1 MB - shall do it on the windows pc, the Mac is not reducing the size

Re: "The First" from the SPEEDSPORT stable !!

Wow looks neat, way to go Ricky Ji.

So is this the same block machined to 1.6 or some other engine plonked on the car.
Take it to the dyno and flash some numbers sir ji.

Re: "The First" from the SPEEDSPORT stable !!

No dyno numbers, but going by the upgrades, should be around 200 at the crank, as it was earlier 150 at the crank on the dyno check
