Isjey,

There is no way that a 60/55 could have caused a burnout - atleast in my experience. On a higher wattage (100/90) like I have mentioned please use cutout, relay etc. Make sure you use ceramic holder. Also, if you have the old bulbs, can you please inspect it and check if they were original Philips. I am sure the manifacturer has some liability on such issues - else the dealer has pulled a fast one.

Thanks,
-P.

Has anybody noticed how the whit & blue crystal visions hardly work in the rain. I mean I hard phillips crystal vision in my previous car and night time rain driving was a pain with them. So now I use 130/100 regular phillips bulbs on my swift. They are 100 times better during the rains.

Vikaram,

I do agree crystal visions are no good when there is a lot of truck/BPO cab traffic on the road and ofcourse during rains. I've recently changed over to 100/90 and feel good. Atleast one can match the truckers/BPO cab drivers on light terms atleast.

I'd to drive to salem recently in the night with my crystal visions and had a tough time in the krishnagiri to salem section with a lot of potholes and diversions with heavy truck traffic.

Guys!!!! What is the conclusion after all this discussion.... LOL

I own an Octavia rider and I need to zero in on one of these bulbs considering the fact that It doesn't cause any problems/damages to the headlamps of my car

Cheers

Sumit dude. I suggest you go in for regular 90/100W bulbs. These should not cause you any problems. Or even 130/100W if you are willing to tak the risk of the headlight turning dark after sometime.

Look for Philips Rally Eye H4 100/90.

130/100 is great, used it in my Lancer for 2 years with no problems but don't know about Octavia.

Sumit,

Philips 100/90 Blue Vision is the way to go. I have it on my Octavia after having tried out atleast two other models.

Thanks,

Can any one let me know who/where is the reliable source for Philips or Osram bulbs?

When I say reliable, I mean assured of genuine parts, availability of all models and sizes and wattages, should hanor the warranty as applicable, etc...

I have seen many vendors selling them without any back up and dubious claims. (I have seen guys come with bulbs in their pockets and claim they are genuine and argue about it, Say no such size called H7 exist, and say no warranty on any kind of bulbs),
