When it comes to replacemetn filters:

1. Green because of workmanship and filter medium quality
2. K%N because of filter medium, but workmanship is not as good as green slightly impeeding flow.
3. BMC because of filter medium.

Piperx is bottom of my list. Others, which I rate also well are jetex and ramair.

I am not impressed by HKS, blitz.

When it comes to cone filters my favourite id a Taiwanese one, which a number of tuners found the best flowing with more than adequate filtering capabilities. Further advantage they are much cheaper than other manufacturers and it is easier to bin them after 2 years then cleaning them.

What would make them better?

A flash website is meaningless.

Showing involvment in racing doesn't say anything about quality.

Hi CPH,

It would be good if you could give more information on these Taiwanese cone filters as I am interested in getting one for my car.

Thanks,
Kailash

I very much doubt that you have done as much research as I do on this subject. I am for 31 years in the performance tuning industries and I develop air intake systems all day long for the performance industries and can tell you that they aren't better.

From what I came to know from different sources is that GreenUSA is a better product when it came to quality than Green Cotton. Not here to argue who has done more research in what.

Also I didn't mention that I'm an expert in this field.I'm just giving my opinion from what Ive experienced.

Just wanted to make sure people don't think I bought the filter just because of some flashy website.

My only worry in Ahmedabad has been a shoddy job and higher prices. The city doesn't boast of very many quality installers when it comes to ICE or engine mods.

I am contemplating between green stock/ K&N replacement or conical. Again Ahmedabad is too dusty for a conical. Hence I am not sure.

Conical should not make a difference to replacement when positioned correctly.

If it doesnt make a difference, why fit conical in the first place?

Is it worth investing in a replacement air filter rather than changinh your stock filter every service?

The stock filter element does not need to be changed at every service. The Swift manual recommends replacement at 40k km. That being said, I do not know what benefit a stock replacement filter would offer apart from longer replacement intervals.
