Okey.. would be nice to know the difference, but since the green has got years of dirt in it, the newer k&n would surely perform better initially.

Storm conical would also cost you around 6k + you would require the piping which would be additional 1200/- to 1500/- = 7.5k approx

Pipercross comes much cheaper for conical it would be approx 4.5k + piping 1.5k = 6k

I would be fitting the pipercross in my NHC zx this weekend.

Thanks in advance for your replies

Do trial run with lpg as there is possibility of change in air/fuel ratio of lpg and running lean mixture causing problems.

I experienced K&N with my Aveo, its sluggish performance below 1500RPM was a nightmare, tried K&N, and I could realize good difference. It should work better for Diesel vehicles.

Just completed 3500 in my new Scorpio, and after first service (5000 Kms), I will be fixing K&N.

But I am open to hear from any one who used Greencotton or Pipercross in Scorpio.

I had a K&N filter and now I have a Greens conical filter. I found the Greens filter more effective

I am having Greencotton filter with CAI for my swift. I installed green cotton first and after a month or so when for CAI.

After installing the filter, I could feel an increase in performance, more on the acceleration part. The car accelerated quickly, and also the engine sounded smoother.

But I am concerned about the CAI setup in my car. Have the Greencotton CAI pipe. One end is connected to the filter assembly. The pipe is taken till the radiator fan and fixed there with other end facing upwards. I wonder how much cold air will be going through the pipe and if sufficient air is being sent to the filer. Can anyone pls clarify me?

Apart from this I am happy about the performance of the green cotton filter. I think the actual performance of this will be felt in long run.

Got HKS Super Power Flow Reloaded fitted in my Baleno today, from Race Dynamics in Koramangala (Jakasandra). It was late in the evening and could not manage to get any pics.

Here are the pics of the box:
Air Filters - K&N vs Greencotton vs Pipercross-hks-box1.jpg

And a pic of the entire set (off the net): -http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/images/hksindkitgif.gif

From what I heard from the experts (friends off T-BHP), this is better than the regular K&Ns available, and are much easier to maintain. Just take the filter apart, wash it in water and put it back. It's apparently as easy as it gets!

Initial impressions:
1. the intake growl/noise upward of 2.5k rpm sounds great.
2. the car feels a tad peppy, but that might just be my excitement doing the talking.

I'll get to know tomorrow how much advantage it has added, when I get to do some decent speeds on B'lore-Mysore highway.

Damage - a penny & a dime less than 10k. I know - .
