To be fair to why we arent progressing with the conti i would like to show you guys some teasers of the w126 we have been busy with. I will post full pics only after the car is complete!

Well the car was a mess, she was rotting away in one corner when we decided lets do her up and get her to her glory days again, the exteriors were bad and the interiors were worse.
The rust you see is only tip of the iceberg i dont have the pics while the car was in bad shape, anyway,we did the patchwork, removed the windshield overhauled the brakes, rechecked the wiring, trying to get the sun roof working for the exteriors. We also redid the wood work, the interiors, dashboard, every switch and knob, even the speedometer, everything was opened up..
The car..(wait for it) was painted at least 6 times over and over again previously with rust popping up from places, the paint was stripped down to bare metal base. The car was then painted using very high quality Glasurit paint and lacquer on a 2k primer base, she is awaiting polish now.
Some pics from before to after.

more pics..The car has many issues, the biggest ones are damaged chrome components, very poor aftermarket wiring work done on the car.

Superb! This is great stuff! If this is the teaser for your W126 then I can't imagine what the Conti would start to look like once it's nearly done! Fantastic pictures and work! (But we need more!) True auto enthusiast I say!

Note from Mod: Lets maintain this awesome thread for only the Contessa project, guys. Discussing other cars will take the discussion off topic.

Kondaril : Please open a new thread for the W126 restoration. As a diehard fan of this model, I'm looking forward to it!

Urrrrrm, doesn't Bete Noire mean something hateful? Maybe I am missing the point.

One word, go, go for it. Bye the way those led lights below the head light will not be there na, in earlier discussion's I believe, this was the way to go.

I am not liking those led lights. It is killing the macho image of the Car, but then it's just my opinion.

you can go for a poll on your thread, for the 3 -4 colors that you have in your mind.
