Re: My Zen LXi wth some Basic Mods

@knob: thanks mate..you can increase the height of your car by adding spacers, actually I purchased this Zen from True Value, the previous owner had already increased the body of the car from rear (dont know why)..my friend has increased his esteem's height, because he installed CNG (Which decreased the car's height from the rear end, due to weight of the gas cylinder) he spent Rs 100 only from a local wheel alignment guy here in Delhi to add spacers in his car...why do you wish to increase the height of your car ??

@breezydrive: the model that I drive is a 2004 model zen, same model was sold in 2005, do you mean same model 2005 zen can accommodate a tire wider than 155 normally?

@skyliner: thanks for the information buddy by the way what mileage does your zen gives ?

11-12 with 50% AC. My car's got full FFE and conical K&N, so you tempted to floor most of the times

I was always against adding spacers to my car as I thought it might affect the handling, since you guys already have them, what are your thoughts?

@skyliner: 11-12 is okay with zen..honestly telling I dont have any technical know how about spacers and all, My car has spacers installed in the rear end, all I know is it does not let the car body touch the tires even if 6 people are traveling..

Hows the handling with the spacers? I am sure you will not always be travelling with 6 people onboard. By handling i mean cornering speed that u can carry through and straightline speed on express highways

Re: My Zen LXi wth some Basic Mods

@motormaverick: i am driving with spacers from day 1, so really can not differentiate the handling from a stock zen, however after adding the stock front shocks changed (20k kms back) and upgrading to Michelin XM1 Plus tires the handling has definitely improved while cornering and even driving at high speeds on highway..

Re: My Zen LXi wth some Basic Mods

I was thinking of painting the side wall of my car's tire (paining the brand name), my friend just did in his esteem (with Bridgestone tires), however, I noticed 1 thing, that the brand name on my tire is too narrow (the font size) unlike the Bridgestone's font..has any one tried painting Michelin's XM1 + tire ??

Pics of my friend's car attached..

Re: My Zen LXi wth some Basic Mods

hello guys..this longggg weekend was amazing for me and my ride..

Earlier in summers i was forced to take "sauna baths" in my car (even with the a/c on) while traveling and the soups and tea used to be warm for 2-3 hours.

But not any more now , I Finally got my car's air conditioner installed, i mean the compressor and a/c air filter (the bottle on the left hand side beneath the hood)...old compressor was dead and used to make noise if the a/c was on, car wasnt cooling at standstill position, while moving a/c was not at all effective (I used to turn on the a/c while leaving for my office everday, and it used to start cooling when I used to reach my office parking).

The brand is Subros (as it came as OE fitment) I spent Rs 11,700 after negotiation (the guy was asking for Rs 12,500)

I can recommend the shop to tbhp ians, the address is Shop# 4 DDA Market, INA Market its called "Unique a/c works" (i am sorry, i lost the mobile no.of the workshop)

btw i saw a never ending crvvvvvvvvv (honda crv, limo) couldn't take photograph as I was driving on Saturday morning near India gate)

thanks for reading..have a good day (every time you read my posts )

I want to upgrade the ICE wiring in my zen, right now its a JBL. What is the best available wiring kit to run a 600 watts SONY amp and a Pioneer 306 sub? would be grateful if you can quote the prices also..

Re: My Zen LXi wth some Basic Mods

I went to car wash yesterday..a new car wash is open at Petrol Pump near Jesus and Mary college, he charged Rs 350. Which included cleaning of plastics inside the car.. all the doors/ dashboard were washed properly..i am quite happy with their service..

if it was a movie it would have given it a 4.5/5

some pics are attached..
