How much did it cost ?

Thanks for the information. Actually, I was thinking to replace my car(Swift)Horns myself, and was wondering if I can do it without removing the bumper and by removing the wheel cover. So it will be DIY on saturday.

Fitted Vibrosonic on my pulsar. It feels meaty . Electrician used 4mm wire with 10A fuse. Just came from chennai bangy trip. I saw many fitted with Megasonic but honestly it does not has the punch as in Vibrosonic. Strange thing happened when i drive more than 7k rpm the tone often gets out of tune. I doubt higher voltage is generated from the coil causing the screech sound.

After three days of solid usage in the pouring rain at high speeds (500KM of it), one tone of the Nautilus has gone weak. No doubt because of water ingestion. Let's see if it comes back when it dries out.

I have opened up, cleaned and oiled my older nautilus which had gone bust. Just need to test it now and see if I have been able to infuse life back in it. *fingers crossed*

Got some updated Horn prices(pair).

Roots Vibrasonic : 1100

Megasonic :1300

Vibra Mini : 650

Hella : 1300(having same spec as Vibrasonic)

&

Roots Melody Maker(7-in-1) : 170

Is these prices too costly ? Is the guy taking me for a ride ?

It will change back to normal. Had a similar problem with my set after a service and it was back to normal after about 2 days.

I dont use my hella redgrilles in the rains due to their vulnerable location . In fact, I rarely use them. I only use them if someone else is acting like a jerk , or conversely, I feel like acting like a jerk .
Thankfully, both are rare !

Eh, mine has become 1.25 tone. The second tone has become very weak and it's staying that way. Dunno what to do now. Any tips ankit?

Stuff cloth in one trumpet - Blow the horn.
Repeat with other trumpet.

This makes all the pressure release from one side, clearing/cleaning any dust etc on that side, and just might help in getting the tone back. It helped with my older set quite a number of times.

I still haven't got time to test the Nautilus that I repaired - I think it's high time I did and posted on that!

Ah crappola, my horn has died completely while coming back from the meet. Now it's just like someone with a throat infection -barely no sound and a lot of air.

Hyundai service center discourage horn replacement

I bought Hella dual tone horns for my new i20 (Stock horns suck), and took it to service center (I was not comfortable with the electrical abilities of the JC road guys). To my surprise, Hyundai service guys clearly declined to install the new horns. They said if I still wanted, I should write down on their service form that I will be responsible for any damages caused by the installation.

The reason they said was installation needed rewiring and they are not sure of implications of the power draw. This could lead to fire and had few cases where horn fitments have caused the car to burn!!

Finally decided not to change the stock horns as they said the warranty will be void if we tamper the wiring.

Any clues on what the take from other vendors .... Whom to blame?? Hella or Hyndai

Blame the stupid Hyundai service centre. Nothing will happen to your car. Go & install it from somewhere else..
