Stebel have a pleasent tone, but hella is harsh. I used to have a pair of hella red grills on my bike, but changed to Stebel TM 80 Magnum - they are loud, but people dont jump when they hear it like they used to do when I was using Hella red grills.
My car have hella red grills, and they are one of the best and effective horns I have come across.

Dear All,

My M800 is fitted with Bosch horns. It was positioned in the engine bay in such a way that while honking, sound inside the cabin was disturbing. Last weekend I tried a DIY to reposition the horns. I placed them near the front grill. The horn now sounds loud and clear . But my concern is if the wires would get heated up . Since the horns are placed near the engine, I fear that the heat generated would melt up the wires and damage the horns. I tested the new set-up for two days after running the car, and the wires seems okay. But my concern is whether I would result in melted wires during a long drive.

Please advice me on this set-up. Am attaching the pictures of old set-up and the new set-up. I'd very much like to place the horns in the new position since the sound is loud and the sound inside the cabin has reduced. What other modifications should I need to continue using this set-up?

Thanks,
Jose.

Better to use some sleeves to protect the wire.

I believe wire sleeves are a kind of protection material over the wires. Are they available in electrical shops?

Thanks,
Jose.

wire sleevs are the way to go, Jose. If not sleeves, then cover the wire with 2-3 coats of insulation wire.
The new position is good, but why dont you try to mount them in front of the radiator or below it?

may be, if you remove your bumper, you can fix the horn and then you can fix the bumper back - just a thought.

I'll try to find any new position by removing the bumper.

Actually my current problem is not the wires getting melt, but it's the horns that get hot. Will the horns get damaged because of that?

You can purchase the sleeves from shops that sell automobile spares, specially that sells electrical spares such as horns and stuff.About the heat, not much but manufacturers recommend to mount the horns away from hot engine parts.
