Motorlover, its a slight complex process to fit flyscreen on LX125. If you are really keen, I will explain you the process and you can ask service centre guys to fix it for you. Its not impossible !!!
A flyscreen assembly kit alone in Europe or eastern Asia costs anywhere between $100-$150 USD. For your LX 125, it wont cost more than Rs.2000 !!!
Think it over.

Hey Hillram, your Vespa looks cool with that windscreen. The work looks very neat. Could you please share more details about its availability & price. I am planning this for my Vespa S.

Retro lookin Vespa you got there.Looks great.

Those whitewalls, are they made to fit any tyre size? How are they installed?Do they catch dirt easily?I can see some blackish colour on it.

Thanks. White Wall inserts are available from 8" to 15" Tyre sizes.
They dont catch dirt at all, its the tyre heat which creates a black mark.

Re: My Vespa LX 125 "Yellow Wasp" - Italian Art In Motion

I have faced this problem twice. If i park my bike for a long time say for about 2 weeks, the rear wheel gets locked. It just doesn't move.I checked elsewhere that you need to apply the left brake slowly. I tried doing that and after sometime it gets released and than there is no issue whatsoever. Is it a common problem? Should I take it to the service center?

First of all, I never had this problem as I too ride my Vespa once in 2 weeks.
May be the liners are getting jammed or the rear brake is tightened too much that it is holding on to the brakes very closely.
I suggest take it to the service center.

3000km Servicing Report

I reached a milestone of 3000km servicing and a prompt reminder from Vespa Service in the form of SMS followed by a phone call was in order.
This servicing comprised of :
- Engine Oil Change : Rs.203
- Gear Box Oil Change : Rs.50
- Labor Charges : Rs.421
A thorough water wash was followed by a coat of 3M rubbing polish to my Yellow Wasp to leave it gleaming and ready to scream !!

Vespa service performed an "Activity" which comprised of fitting a Fastener Plate onto the chassis, which would serve as a point to absorb all the weight of the scooter, especially when braking. Earlier in place of this fastener plate , there was just a rubber washer which took the stress.
Vespa India has directed all the Service Centres to fit this Fastener plate as a mandatory installation, free of cost.
I could definitely feel a difference in drive quality and braking with this Fastener Plate.
I request all the Vespa LX 125 and Vespa S owners to take their vehicles and get this fitted immediately.
Happy and Safe Riding (ofcourse with a helmet !!)

Service is cheap too like Hillram had posted. I forgot how much i paid for the last one( was below 400 though).
I have to check if this 'activity' was done to mine.

Re: My Vespa LX 125 "Yellow Wasp" - Italian Art In Motion

Vespa India organised a rally for its customers which was a culmination of riders who owned LX 125 and S models.
It was a well coordinated Rally for a distance of 30km starting from Smart Vespa Showroom to Golkonda Resorts in Gandipet , Hyderabad. The rally ended with a sumptuous lunch for all the owners at the resort.
More than 75 Vespa owners / riders turned up for this rally on this sunny morning.
It was an absolute pleasure to many number of woman riders with much enthusiasm and zeal, who came to participate in this rally.
Well done Vespa India !!!

Re: My Vespa LX 125 "Yellow Wasp" - Italian Art In Motion

3 Year / 12000km Service
Its been 3 years my Yellow Wasp has been in my garage.
Faultness, devoid of any issues, my Vespa remains the best acquisition in my fleet of automobiles.
Annual Servicng came up with a prompt reminder by Vespa India and the dealer (Smart Vespa). My Vespa was received at the Service centre with a smile and it was business as usual.
I had covered 2100 kms till this service and i wanted Air Filter, Plug to be changed apart from regular 3 year servicing points.
Below are the costs involved at 3 year Servicing :
- Engine Oil Change (750ml) : 203.00
- O-Ring Gasket : 5.00
- Spark Plug (Bosch) : 115.00
- Air Filter : 237.00
- Labour Charges : 475.00
I thought of replacing the 3 year old battery by Vespa, my trusted mechanic at the SVC advised to carry on as there still some good life let in.

My son accompanied me for the first time to the Vespa SVC and witnesses the entire process, much to my happiness.

Re: My Vespa LX 125 "Yellow Wasp" - Italian Art In Motion

Hi Hillram.

A terrific collection of sweet, good-old and new wheels you have there (and your Fiats too)!

I have a request. If you know people in Piaggio India management, could you find out from them whether the famous and chic MP3 three-wheeled piaggio scoot is being planned for an India launch at some soon point? I ask since they apparently imported an MP3 for r7d purposes a few months ago.

thank you, sir!
