Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

Early 80s - Heavily (but very elegantly) customised Vijai Super

Then, a Bullet for a couple of years (once I was old enough for a licence ) - loved it for the feeling it gave me & hated it for all the times it left me stranded on the road. Made a very young man understand how a love marriage can end up in divorce!

1986-1994 RX100 (First batch, virtually Japanese) - what a little beauty it was! Love(d) it! Bade a sad goodbye as I left India.

---- Long gap while life "happened", but the passion never died --------

Finally since 2012, my dream bike - Fatboy....innumerable snide comments about mid-life crisis (yeah, tell someone who cares - you are sitting in your couch while I am out riding), I am no more the boy racer I was, happy to be a cruiser, so the Fatty would be a keeper until I am too weak to hold up its massive heft! Hopefully (if I live long enough), would be riding well into old age!

Learnt riding on my dads Bajaj Super. Used to ride the scooter in my locality, used it for almost a year. Currently riding a 2000 Honda Unicorn, which was a birthday gift from dad, on my 18th birthday. Completed 50k kms on the unicorn without a single issue.
Planning to gift myself a KTM Duke 200 soon

Honda cbr600 f4
Honda Blackbird '00 (Current)
Suzuki GXR600
Suzuki GXR1000 (Current)

Going to buy an RC390 soon, Lusting after a Bonnie, So probably going to buy that in the near future too.
After the RC and Bonnie being purchased in the next 5 years, I'll buy another 600cc, The market will hopefully flourish by then in India.

Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

Good to see this thread!

Honda Unicorn: 2005 - 2010, used for 50 odd thousands before handing over to an employee for his daily commute. I still get to ride it at times for fun.

A sad gap of four year in riding, bought an Aviator for my better half.

Come January 2014, A proud owner of my childhood dream machine the 'Royal Enfield' TB500! clocked just 7000 km since most of my commute has to be by car. Occasionally do Mumbai Pune on this though. Here's a pic -

Bajaj CT 100 (still owned )

then again have one 86 LT and a Full blown RD Drag bike lying around who is complaining he he he...
And 10 years later.. the CT100 was sold after couple of years though it was running flawless, and in October 2014 found the itch of biking back.

Went ahead and got myself a Triumph Street Tripple 675.

Re-tuned to 106 bhp with UK/US airbox intake, Stock 106 ECU map and UK exhaust end can. Added few essential accessories like frame sliders, engine cover / protectors, front fork bobbins and rear tyre huggers.

Its Jan 2016 and a healthy 7000+ kms later, meet Bipps! (inspired from the squint eyes of Bipasha) the Street Triple.

Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

My first experience on a motorized two wheeler was on my sister's Bajaj Sunny - Not much faster than the cycle I used to own though
TVS Scooty Pep ( 2005 - 2008 )
TVS Apache RTR 160 ( 2008 - Present )
Honda CBR250R ( 2015 - Present )

Planning for a good 300-400 cc bike to replace the CBR this year, lets see !

Hmmm, very clearly shows that you are a tourer !
Nice choice of machines over the years... But quite intrigued by your switch from the CBR 250R to the Thunderbird 500. I can understand the torque and heritage advantages, but doesn't the TB500 have a slower cruising speed capability than the CBR 250R?

Ironically, I've only used these bikes for office commuting

CBR250 was in Bangalore, didn't want to undertake the hassle of changing the registration, paying the road tax, etc. when I shifted to Mumbai. Also, on the CBR, my kid had to sit all crouched up because of the riding position. In the thunderbird, it is not so. And I got the 500 only due to the FI, otherwise in the city, even the 350 is good enough. Oh and I've never gone above 90kmph on any of these bikes.

Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

Started riding on my own vehicle 20 years back.
1996-2001 - Her Puch Turbo Sport (approx. 25k kilometers)
2001-2007 - Hero Honda Splendor (approx. 40k kilometers)
2007-2016 - Honda Unicorn (just about 14k kilometers)

Currently own a 2015 Duke 200. The most under-utilized bike was the Unicorn because I purchased a car in 2007 and it was difficult to split riding between the car and bike and after purchasing Duke in 2015, unfortunately couldn't get myself to ride the Unicorn much. After the arrival of Duke I have regained the passion for biking. Hoping to clock some serious kilometers on the Duke.
