Oh! boy that was a heart breaking saga, the king had a gruesome a end, looking at the factory pictures which should have been filled with workers moving around giving life to new beauties, parts lying around awaiting for their turn to get into life, and the bikes ready to fire and burn the roads standing still to become a part of a sad end. I felt the same pain and agony when I lost someone close to my heart. The jawa meant for army use was awesome I could do anything for that beauty, the silencers liying to the mercy of nature brought tears into my eyes. These bikes dont deserve this kind of an end, I am not sure what factors went wrong with the manufacture but its a great loss to the automobile industry and a huge disappointment to bike enthusiasts.

I feel we all need to have a day with these beauties (jawa/yezdi) in their respective cities as a tribute for these magnificant machines. I am not sure but there is a day devoted for jawa/yezdi day in entire world.

Yes, there is a Jawa and Yezdi Day celebrated internationally on the 2nd sunday of July. So you just missed it on the 12th ! In fact, there are Jawa/Yezdi clubs in India (I am a member of one in Bangalore) that organize a meet/rally on this day.
It was quite a mice event this year, with almost 250 bikes turning up and about 100 of them went for a ride to a Cafe Coffee Day outlet some 70 kms out of bangalore on a glorious day for a ride. It was great fun.

Wow!! that must have been a memorable day....Ah! just imagining the crowd of 250 lovers at one place, the air must have been filled with the smoke & the beats of the beauties, looking at each others bikes, talks about bikes, man I missed it . Even if I had know it I couldn't have been a part of that lovely event but atleast would have taken my jawa on the roads of Hyderabad imagining that I have all of you right next to me. Hope we have a club in Hyderabad though we have lot of Jawa/Yezdi lovers here. Hope a day comes when I share the same joy with you....

Thanks for the pics 0000ad. They bring back old memories. Riding the Yezdi/Jawa was always a pleasure.

Thanks for sharing the pics, 0000ad.

The green Jawa reminds me of the Jawa, that my father owned, long time back!

It looked exactly the same, except for the seats.

Wow! awesome bikes..!! This has got me all the more eager to get my Roadking soon.

Had a quick query to the Jawa/Yezdi experts. Does the roadking stock come with indicators or is it an after market addon..? The one that I am picking up has indicators and a crash guard. But the black roadking in the pics below does not have either. So got a bit of a doubt on that.

I am not expert but it used to come as stock (in 1994 model) as one of my friend bought brand new Roadking.

Yes, Roadkings will come with indicators as stock.
My mechanic told this to me and for FC the indicators and batteries are must for RK.

@double: thanks for mentioning the FC part. The one i am picking up will be due for FC next year. I was not aware of indicators being a must for RK.

Just saw the factory pictures, very sad. I had bought a Road king in 1994-95 can't remember, it was when the factory had reopened for about 3-4 years I believe and new bikes were available. I feel very sad looking at those factory pics, my bike would have also come from the same factory.
