Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Seriously I don't know why I had booked. The bike looked tempting in Red colour. If it is vibe free then off goes my TB and in comes this Triumph. No service center for the next 320 km yet feel this could be a better one to own. Last 4 digits are of my booking receipt says 7251.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

These two days have been so exciting. Absolutely unbelievable pricing. Have this uncontrollable urge to book it eventhough I am quite content with my almost 7 year old Himalayan. Such is the pull of Triumph. Will wait for the launch of Scrambler and then take a call.

Just booked looking at the launch price when I was not even in the market for a bike. My number is 52xx. In the hurry to book, didnt check the color and booked the default red though I wanted the grey. These guys just came in and stole HD's thunder.

I downloaded the receipt but no whatsapp/sms for me too.

Those wondering about service network - Bangalore is getting 4 showrooms. Other cities should also improve soon, if these booking numbers are anything to by!

Yep, just saw the Autocar India preview. Apparently a hundred Bajaj Triumph showrooms are going to be opened across India according to them (if I heard it correctly). That should assuage some of the concerns.

Any idea if they are going to open soon (by EOD this year) in Vadodara/Baroda Gujarat?

The nearest one from my place is in Ahmedabad (Riya Triumph)

Hey crazy, I've booked w/ Keerthi at residency road, will the showroom be transferrable between dealers?

I rather visit jp nagar than residency road

Crazy stuff. I have this uncontrollable urge to book the Triumph Scrambler, even though I don't live in India. It would be a hoot to ride during the few weeks of my summer vacation.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Out of words and still not able to digest such crazy VFM pricing from Bajaj - Triumph. The Speed 400 undercuts the Duke 250, Duke 250 Adventure, Husky twins, Dominar 400, Honda Cb300r, BMW G310r and the HD 440x. Not including the Duke 390 as it has a lot of additional features. From initial walkaround reviews, the build quality seems to be the best, exhaust is bassy and the bike is decently kitted.

I feel like the Bajaj management is ok with less profit margins from Triumph initially. Just like KTM, they will keep hiking the prices after 1 year.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Unrealistic pricing on the Speed 400 and I am pretty sure the Scrambler will also be priced competitively. The Speed and the Scrambler look much much better than the Harley Davidson 440X. And with more power on the Speed, I am sure the sales figures will all tip in favour of the Speed.

While the Speed and Scrambler look good - in the 6 years that Triumph and Bajaj took to develop these bikes, they could have given it a very distinctive design , rather than making it a look alike of their existing lineup.

Anyways, no complaints on it. Waiting to see how TB and HD are going to fare against the Royal Enfield motorcycles.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Everything looks nice but very similar to Jawa launch. Almost no dealers in most states forget most cities, the booking section shows coming soon in most states. Production capacity of 5000 per annum and I'm sure 10000 bikes each for both category is going to be done this week itself if not already done. How long will buyers have to wait. When will it be available in most cities? Hope buyers don't get frustrated like jawa and start cancelling bookings for such a beautiful bike.

I hope they are not starting from bike number 1 today and have some in stock rolling out to the showrooms.

I dont see much cancellations due to two reasons:
1. This will not be the first bike for the buyers. They are not left stranded and need one to commute. So they would be willing to wait.
2. All they have to do is start increasing the prices in the following months for new bookings. That will keep the early birds happy

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Watched the full launch presentation.

Regarding production capacity, they are building it in a new plant that they are calling Chakan 2.

The production capacity is NOT 5000 units per Annum. It is 25000 units per MONTH for both Triumph and KTM combined. This capacity is extendable to 40000 units / MONTH and further to 80000 units / MONTH if required.

The production will scale up slowly since it is a new bike and a new plant but it probably won't be more than 3 months before the initial 10k bikes are all delivered.

This is not going to be another XUV7OO / ScorpioN / Hycross launch. These guys are coming in all guns blazing.
