Although you do get Sub-dealers in Mumbai who do offer bikes at lower prices (I have no idea how they do it) than Showroom. I would recommend you to buy it from company Showroom because

- A you are not sure of the genuineness of this guy
- 1k is very small amount when you are spending 73-74k so shouldn't really be a concern
- Peace of mind

I hope this helps

Even I was struggling to get a TVS showroom in Mumbai. Thanks to you, I now know where to go look. Unfortunately for me, my new bike dreams (FZ vs RTR) have been pushed back by 2-3 months at least. Wife wants me to do some home improvement projects this Diwali and it will burn quite some moolah. Got to give in. You know what I mean.

I thought the same thing, but where is a showroom, i checked on TVS site and there is suppose to be a showroom at amboli signal, andheri w, but there is no such showroom, i called Justdial and she gave numbers of all bike SHOPs and none showrooms in andheri.
Now i would just like to know, where is a nice showroom?

Hi Abhay,

I did exactly the same thing as you when I purchased my Thunderbird 350 from a sub-dealer near Powai in 2006. I later came to know that it would have been better to go to Sonia Enfield showroom in Bhandup. The sub-dealer's number had been given to me as well by Just Dial. My suggestion would be to visit the nearest bike showroom from your place and ask the sales people there. It doesn't matter what brand. Find any bike showroom and people there will tell you about their competitors' location.

Cheers

Always buy from Authorized dealer. Better for A S S and peace of mind. If some problem occurs you can always email TVS. I know that they do respond.

A word of caution. when u go for taking the delivery, keep the keys of ur bike in ur hand. don't give it to the guy who cleans the bike. Before starting the bike check the engine oil level. Just to save 150/- bucks these thugs put very little oil in the engine, Start the bike , rev it and claim that the oil has moved upwords in the sump and so it's not showing properly on the oil check stick.

@abhayshanu
I live in Amboli, Andheri(W) and this is bogus. There is no TVS showroom in Amboli. There is only a Suzuki showroom, a Kinetic showroom and a Bajaj Service Center here.

Guys i understand this stuff but the problem is not buying from a showroom, it is finding one.
The TVS company has posted the address of a bogus showroom in andheri.
I have mailed them for buying and test driving the RTR, have given my mail and number day before yesterday, lets see what happens.

Loyal Motors does exist, it is just a little further from andheri station after the church and after the amboli phatak, besides suzuki dealership.
The guy is saying 76K total on road, for only grey color, other option is white, which has a waiting period of minimum 1 month or to play 3k extra for no waiting period, says there is no black and yellow color available.
This guy will give accessories also.

@abhayshanu:

so u fixed on RTR180?

Iam a P220 DTSi owner for 2 months now with ZERO niggles. Previously a p150 owner with minor niggles. I can give you some inputs.
I have riden RTR 160 and aint feel it too good after 60-70kmph with those vibrations. TVS bikes have not regained their lost glory. So defintely if u ask me, Bajaj is above TVS.
If u are concerned about quality, go for yamaha or honda ONLY (add Zma too to it).

If u want goodies+performance (with probable minor niggles, i havent had anything till now) + king of the road expreience + fastest indian experience ---> go for P220 DTSi.

PS: Maintain Bajaj bikes well to get benefits.

But the thing is that i never liked the looks, only kept it in consideration as it is the fastest indian bike till now, lets see how things plan out.

@abhayshanu:RTR180 is fast .The Vibration issue IMHO is Not that much to worry about.In My RTR180 ,Vibration did comes at around 55kmph till 65kmph range.After 65-68kmph(as per digi speedo) ,Bike Simply Picks Up Power and It is Thrilling to rip it to Top End.Vibrations disappers in My Bike after 65-68kmph.
RTR180 is Well Built;But in My case ,I had an issue with Front Shock absorbers which is resolved now.Every way ,I find this Bike Fun to Ride.
