225cc , then why just 21 bhp? Seems too low compared to the 60 bhp 250 cc kawasaki ZX-R i rode.

hmmm...21 bhp from a bajaj 225 cc mill; i can already hear HH gunning to re-tune the zma; perhaps we can expect a retuned zma as well, eh...that should be good news; maybe all the zma owners can look forward to "factory tuned" 20 bhp zmas.....

but 1.10 lacs, and no multi-stage (5-way adjustable; or at-least three way adjustable) monoshock..??!! the 55 G unicorn has it, for crying out loud...!!!

at least the rear has a disc- the 250cc fazer (upcoming) is missing one..! so, you win some, you lose some, eh..?

my first impression; the front quarter panel seems okay. the front disc rotor seems to be borrowed from the eliminator (now avenger). the stepped up rear seat seems aesthetically appealing, but dunno what the pillion comfort's gonna be like. the speedo console seems to be futuristic. the exhaust cannister looks more like a aftermarket "bonga" silencer...

finally, all boils down to the performance; i'm thinking the 225 pulsar might manage about 135 kmph, with 0-60 coming in 3.5 secs or less, and the ton could be covered in 11 seconds or so....and that's GOOD...!! things to watch out for; cycle parts quality, and the infamous 180 'box....

@technocrat: are you sure that's oil-cooled and not air cooled..? i see no front-mounted oil cooler...

See guys i am posting info which I am getting from various forums, obviously unless untill BAL does a press release nothings confirmed.

Yes from what I have read & seen(see the pic carefully) it very well is a oil cooled one

@Nitrous: Was the Kwacker u rode a single cylinder ?? At what RPM did it produce that power ?? As per me 21bhp for a 225 single cylinder engine is just fine

I guess its still going to be faster Veyron, consider this, it has more BHP then a ZMA ( which reaches 100 in 10.xx secs according to BSM) and then this is lighter as well. So expect 140 with ease and 100 in 9 secs. Also why are tha alloys similar to the 150DTSi and why aint they black?

ZMA does 0-100 in 14 odd seconds, not 10.

doesn't it look like a modified discover. Look at the fuel tank, looks exactly the same like the discover until the front fairing comes into the picture. Even the bajaj logo on the tank is smallish like the discover and whats more even the Alloys look exactly like the one which come in the discover. IMHO it looks like a modified discover . but then i maybe wrong. Anyways great pic buddy.

Cheers

And have a look at the exhaust, doesn't look good quality especially when compared with the beautiful exhaust-tec silencer that comes standard in the PUlsar

The bike does look good. Have to see more pics to make a clear judgement. The silencer looks like a local ones which u get in the market. Also u can make out the oil-cooler in front of the engine. Rear tyre looks a bit fatter. Could be a 120 size one.

highly unlikely; the 27 bhp comet 250 couldn't manage those figures; the comet does 138 kmph and 0-100 in 10.xx seconds.

@nitrous; could you perhaps give the specifications and exact model name of that kwacker..? as far as i can recall, there's no 250cc street legal/production parallel 4 from kawasaki that squeezes out 60 bhp...??

Hmmmm a Fuel Injected bike! Sounds good, but doesnt look all that good. Still a bit skinny, and those cuticura-tin exhausts look lousy. Also looks like an air-cooled engine...I looked for the alleged oil cooler but cant see one.

Looks like the biking scene is about to wake up from its mileage-induced stupor!

I guess Bajaj has taken designing cues from the Discover, as many people say that the Discover is by far the best Bajaj. Also rear looks like discover ( the lamps)

@nitrous: I think you got my point, this bike is a single cylinder & for that the figure of 21bhp is pretty decent
