Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

I have Škoda Rapid 1.5TDI 2016 model. Went to service centre to check for some noise coming from suspension.

However when they elevated the car on hydraulic lift, oil leakage was seen which I would say is significant. Now the car runs fine and I had not suspected this.

SA says oil cooler needs to be changed which is leaking and quoted 27000 for this.

Need help in knowing if this is the right remedy or something else needs to be checked. And is the 27000 quote the right quote?

Thanks

Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

Dear all,
I recently got my vehicle serviced and suspension overhauled at Tafe Access Hosur Road. My vehicle has run 1.25 lakhs and this is the first ever overhaul. There are a few more works to be carried out like steering rack, engine mounts, and also need to rectify AC not cooling. But thanks to the ASC these parts were not available with them at the time of service, can anybody refer me a good Skoda specialist where I can get these jobs done, as I can source parts on my own.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

Visited Skoda service station on 3rd November for diagnosis of ABS error showing on my cluster.
The SA mentioned airbag error on my invoice. Now it will reflect on my service history. Called them multiple times to rectify but denied!
What should i do?

Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

Hi everybody, hope you are enjoying 2023 to the fullest. May this year bring all the success and happiness in your life!!!

I have a question for you all regarding WHEELS.

I am a proud owner of 1.0 TSI (2021) Rider Variant. Which comes with stock rims and wheel caps. Somehow one of the wheel cap fall down a few days ago, and it's difficult to find same wheel cap from outside. Does anybody know if there is any alternative with bolted wheel caps (like it used to come with 2009 Hyundai i10. These wheel caps are basically fitted along with the rim using wheel bolts and are not press fit.

I am also giving a thought to upgrade to Alloy Wheel from a good manufacturer (it would cost at least 20-25k), but got to know from some users that alloy wheels are not as good as rims when it comes to shock absorption and protecting the tires.

Opinions please.

Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

I own a 2013 Petrol Manual Rapid (1.6 MPI) which has served us well all this time. Having covered almost 63000 kms flawlessly, the car seems to have been manhandled by a valet last week. I realised the same night while parking that engaging the reverse gear was extremely difficult.

Reverse doesn't slot and takes quite an effort. Other gears seem to be fine.

I was told by a FNG that the issue could possibly be with the clutch and may require clutch replacement.

My Rapid is still running on original clutch plates and has never required attention in this area.

Will be great to know if other Tbhpian Skoda Rapid owners have faced similar issues.

Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

My friend owns a Skoda Rapid Diesel which he has been servicing in Malayalam Skoda in Trivandrum. Since last 2-3 months, the showroom and service has not been taking appointments, as they are planning to handover operations to PPS Skoda.

Initially he was told that PPS Skoda will be starting in January 2023, but later they said it will take more time. He has an extended warranty till mid of Feb 2023, and has been facing an issue with the ORVM knob. When he checked with Malayalam Skoda if it can be fixed, he was informed that the workshop is still operational with limited staff and requested him to bring the car over. At the workshop, they checked and confirmed the issue with the knob and that it would can be covered under warranty. However, they are asking him to go to some other Skoda service centers to claim the warranty. For people in Trivandrum, after the closure of Malayalam Skoda, the other service centers are at least 3 hours away.

Initially Malayalam Skoda sent a mail claiming that he can go to the other service centers, and they will refund him the cost of fuel for the round trip(which might be higher than the price of the knob). Upon checking via phone with the service centers in Nagarkovil and Kottayam, they informed that Malayalam Skoda is making such claims, however no refund of fuel costs would be done.
My friend's extended warranty will expire in a few weeks, and even though it has been assessed and approved for warranty, the time and fuel spent for the issue will not be worth it.

Would there be any way to raise this with higher ups in Skoda?
As the issue is already assessed and approved by Malayalam Skoda, would it be possible to get it replaced under warranty from PPS Skoda, after the extended warranty expires, as the issue is at Skoda's side here that they are postponing the opening of their service center in the city.

Multiple mails have been sent to customer care, without any response from them.

He does not want to extend the warranty any further, as he is not sure about the new service center which is coming in Trivandrum and he has not had a good experience with respect to warranty claims till now.

Attaching response from Malayalam Skoda regarding this issue.

My experience with "Engineering Exponent" in Whitefield was very good. They have good authority on VAG group vehicles. you can reach out to them. My suspension issues which could not be sorted out by VW showroom and another FNG was solved by them.

Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

I own a Skoda Rapid (2016 Make). Now after 6 years the ABS light in the dashboard is On.

I have to replace the ABS censor and Wheel Hub for the front-left wheel (The scan showed negative after replacing the Sensor so service center guys tried to replace the wheel & diagnosed that the problem is with the hub). Front left brake disc & pads are also being replaced (wear n tear, may not be related to ABS)
