Something confusing about warranty. My Duster has done 40000kms and in the service I was told that the shocker which got replaced is not covered up to 40000 km but only upto 30000km. There is no written document of warranty provided to me at the time of buying the car. They showed me in their software, when they keyed in the VIN no and the item it showed 100% to be borne by customer. I was not convinced. Since it was a matter of RS. 3800/- only I have paid and taken the delivery. Total bill value is 16900/-. Will write to Renault and ask for clarification.

When did that happen! The 4 four year warranty was good gesture on the part of Renault I thought. Why remove it? More margins and more greed?
Attached is the quote I got for 2015 Duster last week. It shows the extended warranty cost (3rd and 4th year). Guess the runaway success made Renault greedy.

Either that or they have lost faith in their product . I bought a duster 4x4 and had to pay something like Rs. 10,500 to extend the coverage from 2 Year/30,000 kms to 4 years/80,000 kms. This is effective for all vehicles billed after Jan 2015.

Is there any maintenance we need to carryout on the Exide battery?
I know its suppose to be a maintenance-free model, but is there really such a thing

Its the same for 85PS Duster (different for 110), its not a complicated task once you do it once, pretty easy.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

We just saw the car at dealer stock yard, not a PDI check though. Will be doing the complete PDI check this week before delivery.
Noticed one strange thing, the year on the mirrors is 2014 but according to VIN number its 2015. Guys, is it something we should be worried of?

Please suggest!

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

As far as I know its not that the VIN's start reflecting 2015 exactly on Jan 1st 2015. So I don't think you should worry

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Hi All,

Has anyone heard of the free upgrade of power steering pipe?

I'm in Bangalore and own the 85ps Opt. Is this available in Bangalore?

Regards

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

I was going through the tools and spares provides by Renault. Took snaps of the spare bulbs (H7 and H1) and wheel nuts.

Renault Duster : Official Review-img_20150223_164724186.jpg

Wheel nuts are 17mm, so I have to buy a steel wheel spanner of that size.
Whats interesting is that the wheel nuts are made in Italy.

Yes It is true.I got a free replacement under warranty from Renault Kottayam.

Now the steering feels lighter and kick back feel especially during turning is toned down.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

I Spoke to the service guy at KR Puram Trident Renault and he says that the replacement is available for 110ps vehicles.

So all 110ps vehicles please use the opportunity. Anyone got it done in their 85ps vehicle?

Regards

This applies to all vehicles. Mine is 85 ps, got it done @ my 20k service roughly a couple of months back I think.

Suggest you all to keep your expectations realistic. This update would make your steering feel like Terrano's steering or Duster 2015 (or AWD) steering. Overall feedback is toned down a little (very little) bit. Anyways it's a welcome move from Renault, however came in pretty late.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

I recently upgraded from a normal mobile phone to a smart phone (Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo). My medianav does not recognise the phone. Got the software updated in the medianav today. It still doesn't. Unfortunately I didn't go to the ASS personally and didn't check what they did but the service advisor told me that she had upgraded the software personally.
Am I doing something wrong?
Granted that I am a little slow with electronics but I have paired my previous phone. So I know how to do it. Then what is wrong? Is the phone too advanced for the medianav?
This is an 85 psi Duster bought last year, if that is relevant.

Based on my experience with the Medianav system (85 ps version 2013), the (first time) phone sync is not exactly always seamless.

Me & my wife, both sync our phones with the Car bluetooth/medianav while driving.
Recently, when my wife changed her phone - the car didn't exactly recognize the phone in first go.
Through some trial and error like:
1. First switching ON bluetooth on phone, then the Car bluetooth ON
2. First Car Bluetooth then Phone bluetooth

I got the car to recognize & pair with the phone.

One more thing I can think of, is making your phone "visible" to other devices using bluetooth. You should see that option in "bluetooth" section of your phone connection settings
^(This is only to be done, the first time we sync phone to car).

Have a go,

Ace.
