I registered a complaint with Bookmyhsrp.com and they mentioned that the name of the manufacturer entered by RTO Indiranagar in the Vahan App is wrong. For my Duster, they have updated it as R.N.A.I.P.Ltd.

Can you please let me know what is the correct name to be updated by the RTO?

The name appears as "RENAULT INDIA PVT LTD" in Vahan portal, hope this helps.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Does anyone know what refrigerant the Terrano diesel/Duster 110 uses? Dacia says R134a for the European one but wanted to confirm it’s the same for India.

We do have uneven wear on our tyres, but on both our cars.

I think it's the rear wheels because the sound is more pronounced when sat in the rear. The sound is quite unique; it feels like something is attached to the tyres and is rotating with the tyres. Almost like there is a heavy object attached to a rotating rod.

I'll try and capture the sound next time I'm home.

Would suggest checking the wheel bearings. They are known to fail prematurely.

Sounds like wheel bearing. KJack up the wheel off the ground and twis the wheel by pushing on one side and pulling on another, if it moves, get it replaced immediately, if u run for long wheel will come off while running

Have a duster and terrano in the family, both needed replacement of wheel bearings, duster at 60K km and terrano at 80k replaced last week

Cost at ASS would be around 4k per bearing, FNG would replace both
for 5-6k

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Hi,
My friend gave his less driven Duster 2019 RxS CVT Model for 4th Servicing (@11917Kms). While he never noticed any problems with the car steering, the Service supervisor said that they have found the Steering Wheel Ball Joint has gone bad & needs a replacement.

The whole replacement may cost him 6-7K but the questions are arising on the Credibility of such claims & is it that the material/part is such that it can go bad in so less Kms or it is the Service Centre trying to make extra bucks.

The car has been given for service to a Renault Showroom.

Would stay away from a Nissan/Renault CVT unless I want to sell the car off within 60K km.

Ask your SA to send a video showing what they say has gone bad in the ball joint. Just one ball joint shouldn't be that expensive unless they are changing the pair.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Meanwhile, the new Duster is out. It looks sharp and very promising. Keeping fingers crossed that it makes it to India sooner.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Do you know of any good FNG for Renault Duster (2017 RXL Petrol) in Mumbai? Specifically Andheri West?

The A.S.S. at Andheri West keeps suggesting big fixes. All super expensive.

My gear knob is damaged. They quoted ₹4-5k for a gear knob. Just the top plastic part. It's a manual shift. It's literally a glob of plastic with some printing on it.

I found options for ~₹500 on Amazon.

I have to get front suspension work done, ignition coils replaced, spark plugs replaced, rear brake work done etc.

And the A.S.S. is quoting exorbitant charges. For example, front suspension work is ₹55k approx. I don't know if it should cost so much. The car runs fine and the suspension seems to work with some issues. It's not like it's broken into pieces.

ALSO.... how do I source genuine parts from Monroe brand for the car if I go down the FNG route??

Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Any leads or suggestions for a new sound dampner mat that's under the bonnet? Mine literally fell to bits and had to throw it away. The engine sounds weirdly louder now.

Please consider Bhawani auto garage, opposite to Powai lake. When I had some issues with my Duster, I had it done from this garage and have nothing to complain.

Try Boodmo for sourcing parts and the should have almost everything

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

My duster was giving delayed starting issue and Service Centre didn't give any satisfactory reply. Though during their OBD scan test they found several errors which they cleared. I asked them again and again to check the glow plugs but they said car wudnt start if they were faulty. Hence, I bought one scanner from AMAZON. getting the error:

Has anyone else faced this issue?
