^ Beautful car. My friend is running Osram 50w LEDs' in the projector of his 2019 Ecosport and the low beam throw is sufficient for most scenarios. IIRC, he also has yellow LED bulbs in his fog-lamps, probably from LEDBeam.

1. Transmission oil change. I tried searching online about this but couldn't get much information. If any one has got it changed then kindly let me know which oil is to be used and what amount. Also, is it is a complex task which should be done at FASS or can it be done by any FNG.
I also got a pre owned Ecosport 1.5L Titanium+ AT Petrol recently. I visited the Dhone Ford, Hadapsar in Pune for a general service and inquired about the transmission oil change. But they said Ford mentions it to be sealed for life. I am also currently scouring through Team-bhp to get more information about this.

The vehicle is 5yrs old and driven close to 75000 kms, so I am looking to change the transmission oil soon. Looking forward for information from fellow enthusiasts and Ecosport owners.

Hi xenon0025, do let me know if you get any information on the oil change. Even my request for oil change at Noida Service centre was not entertained.

Requesting fellow Ecosport owners to throw some light on the transmission oil change.

This is an issue not limited to Ford, you can find the details discussed in this thread (Why you should periodically change your Automatic Transmission Fluid (even if "sealed for life")). Hope its of help for you both.

Thank you mpksuhas for pointing to the thread. I have gone through the thread and that's how I realised that ATF should be changed irrespective of what the service centre says.

My next steps are to:

1. Find the right oil for my vehicle

2. Find a competent garage in Pune who has done it earlier for automatic transmission vehicles.

Hello. I own EcoSport AT 2020. It's a Titanium+ model. In August 2023, when I had completed 34,700 kms on odo, I became inquisitive about the lifetime sealed transmission of my car, and like any other enthusiast, I had an inkling that any fluid in any car cannot survive that harsh a treatment, and yet be able to maintain its integrity and efficiency. From one of the forums here at TeamBHP, I was able to get my hands on the service manual and dug the information right out about changing the transmission fluid. Now, my car has the well trusted Aisin 6 Speed Torque Converter, codenamed 6F15.

Coming down to the change of transmission fluid, the fill capacity is 8.6 litres, but because the torque converter doesn't get drained at all, only ~3.5 litres of ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) will come out. The car needs to be parked on a flat surface, and ignition off, nd car in PARK. There are two bolts, one at the bottom of the TC unit, I guess 8mm bolt (the other on the side, ill come to It later), which when opened, allows the transmission fluid to pour out. Then that needs to be bolted back, and then from the top, on the right side of the throttle body, there's a black pipe with a U-bend (named Breather Hose) at top, the locking pin needs to be unlocked and that Breather Hose needs to be be pulled out, that's where the TC unit takes the fluid from. Then once ~3.5 litres of ATF is poured in, put the hose back on, drive the car for a few kilometres until the transmission fluid comes to operating temperature (~100 deg F), and then park it on a ramp or a place with a pit (like they have it in alignment shops, because the transmission needs to be levelled to check the level of ATF). Go under, and when facing the engine side, on to the left, there's a nut which can be opened with an Allen Key (8mm), and while the car is running and in PARK, open that nut. If the fluid pours out, let it until it trickles, and then close the levelling nut again. If it doesn't pour out, add in increments of ~250ml until it does, but keep the car running and in PARK.

So the first change was at 34,700 kms, and the second was around 36,000 kms. I was in for a shock. The transmission fluid is bright red in colour, and is translucent. What came out was pure horror. It was dark brown. Due to frequent city runs, the transmission runs under heavier load, and that leads to a shorter life of transmission fluid. There are videos all over Youtube that says to change the transmission fluid every 30-60k miles (48-96k kms). I am more into preventive maintenance, so I carried it out. Also, due to higher temperatures in our country, I definitely recommend changing it every 50k kms if not less. You'll thank the transmission for its refinement later. Don't add any additives, they are not very helpful due to super fine tolerances of transmission these days.

Now, sourcing. Both the times, I asked my Ford ASS to provide me with Mercon LV (Ford Motorcraft Branding). They asked me what do yo require it for, and I told the, I need it for doing a transmission fluid change. They had no clue, but still they told me they will be able to source it in a week's time. They delivered on that, no doubt. But if your guys are not keen, then you can order Valvoline MaxLife Multi Vehicle ATF (read on the label for MERCON LV), or Liqui Moly Top Tec 1800 ATF (again, read on label for MERCON LV) and use it, depending on availability and costing. Both are excellent, and better than OEM for longevity and smooth shifts. After all, Ford doesn't manufacture ATF on their own, they also source it from these companies.

If I've missed out on something, please do let me know. I'll be happy to be of help. I did a DIY. I couldn't trust service stations ever after the first service of my bike. Now that my car is out of warranty, I'm free to maintain it the way I wish to.

Thanks a ton for such a detailed reply! It is surely going to help a lot of folks.

I did download the user manual for my vehicle from Ford India website and even there it does not have any mention of changing the ATF. This is my first car and I am not yet very confident about DIY. But looking at the lack of knowledge with ASC, I am sure DIY is the route I will have to take.

True! The manual doesn't show how to do it. Actually, the manual says it's lifetime!

Here's a link to give you a good idea of where everything is. Happy DIYing! I would recommend to go for Valvoline or Liquid Moly. Skip Ford OEM.
