Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Absolutely fantastic pricing by Ford. They have a winner and probably the Car of the Year in their hands. They really need to focus in meeting the customer expectations in terms of showroom experience and service.

Any word on official fuel efficiency figures?

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

What I can't seem to understand is the reason behind having only the diesel for a cursory test drive around Bowring Institute @ Metro Ford, St. Mark's Road. I was told to go to Vasanthnagar if I want to try the EcoBoost. Ridiculous.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Awesome pricing and kudos to ford.
Was at the service center the whole day due to some issues that needed to be sorted out in my figo.Got a chance to get a feel of the ecosport and really liked the car. Doesn't have the presence of a typical SUV but will surely grab some attention.Potential customers gathered there were really impressed with the product and many had made up their mind to book it.
The only disappointment from the crowed was the lack of beige colour interior option and not so generous rear seat width, which would be a tight fit for 3 at the back.

I too am tempted to book the ecosport but 2 things are hampering any further thought on the ecosport.
One is about the after-sales service, which is good but takes forever to complete. This may be applicable only to Goa since it has just one service center for the whole state and it is already overburdened,i am sure there will be many complaints from customers about the long service time.

Second is the resale value of Fords in general, i asked ford to evaluate my 2011 1.2p lxi, 21k km covered figo and am starring at atleast 45% depreciation in 2.5 years!! even in a state where petrol is couple of rupees more than diesel.I wonder if i would face the same fate if an owner after 2.5 years tries to sell his 1.5l petrol ecosport.

Coming back to the ecosport i am sure this car has made the life of maruti and hyundai, who also wish to enter this segment,Hell! but that is what is needed in India, making the so called top brands sweat and fight it out to earn our hard earned money.
Only hope that Ford does not get greedy with the overwhelming response and increase prices like Renault.

EcoBoost: 18.88 kmpl

1.5 Diesel: 22.67 kmpl

No info yet on the 1.5 petrol, but I suspect it would be around 15-16 kmpl.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Wow, this will for sure put ford in a very good position. Now that they have launched the car at the right pricing, hope they have sufficient plans to cater to the initial rush which can be true advertisers. Would this be strong enough to derail the premium B Hatchbacks and entry level Sedans (Dzires, Etios, Amaze).

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Finally the cat is out of the bag and Kudos to Ford for not losing their mind and over pricing it. I am fairly certain that this is introductory pricing and its bound to increase once the booking momentum has been established, however price will continue to undercut Duster significantly.

For buyers with restricted budget the entry level models of 1.5L petrol and TDCi makes maximum sense and good value. For people with higher budget, Ecoboost is very good value. Ecosport prices are undercutting Sedans like Vento, Verna by ~1.5 lacs. I am expecting to see some impact to high C segment sedans as well.

Lastly the most important thing needed in the long run by Ford is scaling up the dealerships to handle the volume. With Figo itself dealers struggle and A.S.S is strictly average.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Did anyone compare the features from the brochure

From the looks of it between the Ambiente Vs Trend the On-Road Price difference is Rs.1.04L. For this what i get in Trend is
1. 60/40 Rear split seats.
2. Rear seat reclining
3. Rear seat tumble.
4. Illuminated Vanity Passenger Mirror
5. Driver seat adjustment.
6. Removable Parcel tray.
7. Under Passenger seat storage.
8. Rear Defogger.
9. Rear Wiper
10. Rear Power Windows.
11. Steering Audio Controls.
12. ABS
13. Emergency Brake Hazard Warning.

Other than ABS I do not see any significant feature which Justifying the 1L difference.

Also Between Titanium and Titanium Plus price difference is around Rs.45000

Other than Leather seats I do not see any difference. Is leather seats so
premium that they justify 45K? I can get after market ones which are better.

Anyone checked with Dealer between Titanium and Titanium plus what other features are present ?

What I like is the base version is not fully Stripped but has features like
1. Front Power Windows
2. Turn Indicators on ORVM
3. Music system with USB and 4 speakers.
4. Power OVRM
5. Tilt Steering.
6. Body Colored Bumpers..etc.

Why this is good is till recently Competition was not giving any of the above in their base versions.

Good to see these changes by Manufacturers.

Cheers

You also get all round curtain air bags with Titanium plus, which according to me is very value for money. I like the leather seat in Titanium plus compared to the fabric seats in normal variants.

For 45K, you get 4 extra airbags - Curtain + Side.
The leather seats are additional and because of the side airbags, you cannot put any seat covers/ leather over the stock seats in the Titanium (o).

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Awesome pricing I must say. Enough to eat a chunk out of Renault duster sales For those who will argue Duster is bigger and better, For many urban users, compact size, more features and pricing matter more than the huge boot space. So good pricing

I am surely moving EcoSport to top of my list now. Cant wait to have a test drive and hopefully book it.

.
But as per the Brochure the side and curtain airbags is listed only for AT. Driver and Passenger Airbags are present in both variants.

So either the brochure is incorrect or side/curtain Airbags is only for AT.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Anybody have any idea on the longtime maintenance and parts cost of this vehicle. Usually Ford vehicles will be costlier to maintain after the default guarantee period.

14th Difference:
I think in the base variant - the ORVMs are black whereas Trend has Body coloured mirrors - but as you said - except for ABS there is nothing else that justifies the price difference.
