I had a Brezza 2021 model. The rattling in windows was always an issue in partially open windows. A temporary solution would be to apply greese at the door lock hook. It helped to reduce the rattling a little. The MSIL guys weren't helpful in this case.

Thank you for the feedback.

Thankfully i have not faced any of those issues so far. I did get rear ended while standing at a red light, about 10 days ago, will share those photos tomorrow.

I was very impressed and surprised by how strong the Jimny is and the extent of damage to the other car, which hit into me.
So i will ask them to check the underbody for any damage there.

Thank you sir.!
It’s tough, the challenge to say the least. You need some idea of how the 4L is engaged and how much revs you want to give it, one car had overturned in the second day, and a lot of people were hesitant in giving a week old cars the full beans, That was my main gripe with the organizers as instead of stock/modified categories, they should have done advanced and beginner category,
In A lot of stages , none of the cars qualified as it was too tough of a terrain.

I got a message through the official maruti WhatsApp and it will happen in 3 more cities in the coming days

The manual performs better in my personal opinion, as there a certain control But it’s all boils down to personal preference

This issue was with my XUV500 as well. Tried with Mahindra service, but they had no solution for this.

If this event happens sometime in Bangalore and I get to know about it and if I am so inclined, I may just suddenly popup there and ambush them with my beloved old Gypsy. Let ‘Undercover Grandpa’ meet and surprise his Grandsons.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Hello.
I got an Alpha AT in December.
I have an 2011 thar and find the Jimny to be quite a good vehicle overall. The ride being so much better and composed than the 2020 thar.
Wondering if anyone has faced issues with the traction control kicking in annoyingly often? I had multiple instances during the drive up and back from mercara, Coorg. It felt, at first, like the tyre was brushing somewhere, but on paying attention, I realised it was the TC.
It happens during upward or downward incline turns and is extremely disturbing.
It wasn’t even a spirited drive, happened at average speeds.
I have changed my wheels to 225/70 r15 apollo apterras. Which are great.
Also, found the transmission whine to be excessive, need to play music to drown the noise. Do others feel so too?
Otherwise, build, overall feel is decent.

Consider the Ultimate EVC Throttle Controller which will help you get a better overall throttle response and feel. The vehicle feels much more responsive with this simple non invasive plug in. Especially for those highway drives and hill sections.
I fitted it on my Dad’s Toyota Glanza and it has made a world of difference. I think this 931 model should work for the Jimny too.
I also fitted it on my 2021 Mahindra Thar even though that is such a powerful vehicle, and with this addition it is even more fun.
If you want one of these talk to Ajit of Tapasvi Motors in Indira Nagar and find out more. He should offer you a discount if you mention Teambhp. His number is +91 99307 77800

Ya it is the ESP kicking in. I face the same issue on an almost daily basis. It is quite irritating and ruins the line i am taking and the sudden braking makes it more unsafe imo. It seems to have been tuned very conservatively and i have noticed it kicking in from 40kmph onwards. Possible because of the body roll.

Yes they do work on AT and MT both. Actually all that they do is alter the input given to the ECU when the accelerator is pushed, to make things a little more responsive and this results in a significant difference in ‘feel.’

On my way to Spiti right now, I was about to post on the TC behaviour myself when I read this.

Crossing over extended snow and black ice at Narkanda and beyond earlier today, my experience on the TC has been quite positive actually.
I felt that the TC is not at all overtuned and in fact, allows the Jimny to ‘wag tail’ more than other 4x4’s I’ve driven in similar conditions (Yeti and Endeavour) before activating and bringing the car back in line. And in one particular nasty patch, the car recovered quite fantastically with opposite lock after it started side-slipping into an arc.
Felt like the Jimny has been tuned to offer leeway on trails to allow controllable slides for effective navigation.
On a related note - on stock tyres and about 6 inch snow on the ground, the behavior was confident and in fact, starting up a slippery slope, not in 4x4, my Jimny managed to exhibit none of the drama and wheel-spin the Tata Xenon ahead of me was displaying. That car may have had an unladen deck, causing the trouble, but I’m glad for what the Jimny could do. Let’s see what lies ahead as snow promises to get deeper.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Nothing important to add.

Just that we had a office party at the Ritz-Bangalore. While returning, When the valet came with the car to hand it over to me, he was smiling and looked excessively happy with a grin from ear to ear. When I took the keys and was getting into drivers seat, be said "very nice car sir". I thanked him and told him that it is my wife's car ( to Jimny's real owners credit). He was also from NE side where he could have seen and used old Gypsys and was appreciative of improvement in interiors.

Maruti Jimny Review-img_0551.jpeg

Continuing on the snow theme of the Jimny - another pleasant surprise.

The Hill Descent Control (HDC) is something I tried as soon as I got the car home. No better available location but the down-ramp to our basement parking. At that time, the retardation rate frankly disappointed me - it just seem to hurtle down without any serious effort to check speed (and before someone points out, I did try it again on a small trail-slope with 4H engaged).
Today however, the car in 4L first and then in 4H as the gradient shallowed, in heavy snow, the HDC is nothing if not aggressive! It lets you tackle the sharpest down bends on the slipperiest of slopes without breaking a sweat. Little things that continue to reveal themselves as I explore more terrains.
